Chelsea (H) - FA Cup | Post Match Thread

Ideal game against the ideal team really. Chelsea are a mess right now.

Ortega, 6 - Had nothing to do, looked tidy with his feet though

Walker, 8 - that felt good, nice to have the real Kyle back
Akanji, 7 - very little going on but dealt well with what little Chelsea offered
Laporte, 7 - same as Akanji
Gomez, 6 - played alright, couple of nervy moments but Chelsea weren't up to much

Rodri, 8 - so classy, our most important player
Foden, 7 - took his goal well and looked handy throughout
Bernardo, 6 - similar performance to Foden, just didn't get a goal

Mahrez, 9 - excellent free-kick and an excellent penalty, played well in a free role
Palmer, 6 - don't think he'll make it here but didn't do anything good/bad either way
Alvarez, 7 - industrious as always, nice penalty, good to have him back

Decent resuls and performance a few players who have been underwhelming recently came back and showed some form and try to stake a place for the next game , but the injury excuses the Chavs are using are wearing thin , todays squad was still between £300-400m worth of talent , so i wont be breaking out the violins.
Put Southampton to the sword and it will be a nice boost for the upcoming derby game , an important 5 or 6 weeks coming up , its great to be a blue.

I saw Mahrez at LB & thought WTF! He was on the left wing, centre forward, central midfield & was even back beyond Rodri to pick the ball up from Akanji.

Was Mahrez going off script, or has Pep released the handbrake a bit?
He put in a fantastic shift today, and allied with his undoubted ability he was pretty much unplayable.

He was a joy to watch today, long may it continue.

The best first touch in world football as well.

Enjoyed that game today, wasn't there but watched it on the box with a few beers.
First half once we got going I thought we were exceptional .Chelsea were pretty shit it must be said, but we played some great stuff, the 3rd goal in particular was a really good team goal. The 2nd half was a little 'routine' in truth (to be expected as it was all but over by then)
Why do City fans slag off Micah? He maybe isn't as ' intellectual ' as Nedum, Vinnie, Pat Nevin when it comes to pundatory, but he's enthusiastic, likeable (in my opinion )and is very pro City!
