Should have played a team killed it no mind games 3 wks rest
3 weeks rest wouldn't do us good for the final though mate. As pep says players need rhythm. The team for the final will be playing games whether we win the league in the meantime or not. Everything is building up to be razor sharp for that game. That includes playing games but I can see why Pep didn't deem it worthy to play them now with weeks to spare after a tough game midweek

We are all to jump off a cliff cos we are going to lose everything

Me? I’m looking forward to pep winning us the league and the champions league final .
In a way the defeat will remind us to be grounded and focused in the game that now matters which is the final. It I also means we remain competitive fit at least another week till the title is own. I’ll happily accept yesterday’s defeat if it means we win the final!

The idea Pep would go into this match without heavy rotation seems rather strange and if he did so seems really just... careless.

How important in reality was this game?

Don't get me wrong. I was frustrated, and it could have been "a statement" but are we playing the short or long game?

Was the winning this game for "show" to "send a message" more important than?...

1. Ensuring the we minimise the chance of injury to players who we have been most reliant upon in the big games when..

2. We can afford to lose/draw this match to easily win the title

3. We will need these same players to secure the title, and for the CL final

4. Playing our "best side" gives Chelsea practise against the side they'll face in the CL final (they have not played this team in both victories)

Again, are we certain our emotions and "typical City" fears have not gotten the best of us here?

For me it wasn’t a professional performance, there’s an old saying in football “if you can’t win it don’t lose it” this has happened twice now, losing the game in injury time, Leeds now Chelsea. Imo it does have a bearing in other games such as the final.

Well said. It would be funny if united lose later, and all the doom and gloomers suddenly drop the depression because we are confirmed champions.
It’s all about the final.

A few things: 1)I fear that we've peaked and Chelsea's best is still to come. 2)We looked lack luster, no creativity whatsoever in midfield to start. 3)Aguero cost us at least a draw trying to be cheeky vs hitting a virtual sure thing. 4)VAR still is broken. 4-6) if today isn't Mendy's last game in a City shirt we might as well sign him to a 4 year extension as he's shocking anywhere but the final 3rd. 7) Go Villa.
