Could Chelsea want to play 4141, i.e. need 4 tricky, pacy, midfielders? Isn't Rooney essentially a midfielder these days and no one bats an eye that they are after him?

I just don't believe Chelsea would be bothered trying to stop Arsenal, Spurs or Liverpool strengthening unless they really genuinely wanted the same player. I could only see them buying to stop City or United, i.e. their direct rivals.

Spurs as always are bitter and arrogant.

Anyone else hoping for a United win or draw against Chelsea?

I hate Chelsea-Mourinho tandem so much that I would be happier with a Man U win than a Chelsea win. But I think I'll prefer a draw to possibly give us a two point gap over the two.

AS English @English_AS: Atlético sources have confirmed to @diarioas that they have put in a loan request for Juan Mata as possible replacememt for Adrián.

I don't trust anything coming out of Spain concerning us at the moment. They've got a vendetta for Jose and have tried to unsettle Luiz and Mata several times this summer. Regardless, they're welcome to ask; we'll just say no. Jose has said that Mata isn't leaving on three separate occasions.

Diego Simeone has not denied interest in Juan Mata on loan in his post match presser today and said the interest in him is very serious and things are happening, blimey.
