It was mostly the walking down the tunnel bit that left me a bit baffled. Was he really going to abandon his team right in the middle of a game, before a shootout? I know he didn't actually walk out, but just the idea that he thought about it is bonkers.

Surely Sarri showed a very weak reaction in that situation, he didn't boss it at all.

Instead of walking away he should have stood on the line by showing his clear intention and waving Kepa to the line with a smile,
if needed get his hiding captain involved until Kepa comes off.

All in all very poor and telling about the internal situation.

I'm not too sure it would have been different had it been anyone else though. Klopp would self-combust for a start.

Guardiola would have been volcanic.

I can only assume Sarri was getting rid of his anger by doing something, anything, while avoiding things that would get him sent off.

No. If it were an accident or misunderstanding, why didn't Arrizabalaga sprint, who after all was fine to continue, over to the touchline and clarify the situation? He instead defied his manager and made him look weak to the watching world. They can try and bluff it out and hope it goes away, but unless a stance is made and the player severely rebuked, then I'm afraid Sarri's position is frankly untenable.

I was watching in a bar in Goa with a right assortment of fans from across the country. Most knew of the history with Willy and penalty kick saves andeveryone knew what was going down 're the replacement of Kepa. All I can imagine, personally, is that Kepa said a big "fuck you" to Sarri.

Kepa wasn't suffering from cramp he was faking it.

In trying to pretend he wasn't refusing the coach's orders, he's instead admitted to having done exactly that. He's not overly bright, I fear.

If Sarri was adamant about wanting him off, he should have confirmed it to the ref who would have made sure. Glad he didn't though.

It looked to me like Kepa thought he was being replaced due to injury and he was making them aware he was fine.

What was happening though was Sarri was replacing him due to Willy being a penalty specialist.

How could the ref have made sure? I was surprised Moss even got involved in the whole farce. It had nothing to do with him. He should have just got on with the game.

I felt sorry for Sarri but he completely bottled it last night. He should have thrown Kepa under the boss.

Sarri lost control either way though in my opinion.
