Palmer has looked really good so far, he just needs a consistent run of games in my opinion. Disappointed though, as I think he should still be playing for us.

We don’t usually regret young players leaving, but I think we might with this one (it’s early days yet, so it could go either way)

Pep said he tried to persude him to stay without success. Palmer himself will have looked at the purchase of Doku and the rise of Lewis and thought he would not get minutes.
I’m sure we will regret his leaving but our policy is clear.

I think he will have looked at the rise of Oscar Bob rather than Rico Lewis, considering his position in a line-up.

It may well have been known to City that Palmer wanted out and that may have been the catalyst for the Doku signing, rather than the other way around.

City had set Palmer’s price and it hadn’t been met previously, but the player obviously wanted to move on.

We never got to see him take a penalty in the league for us, so we will never know.

Even if he had, he’d have missed it.
He has scored for us.

Thing is imho when it comes to touching or kissing the badge you need to have a close connection to club and fans. Too many players just do this for the sake of it or to impress a few fans.

I myself loved it when Zaba did it after his goal at Roma. If let’s say Haaland would’ve done this after his 1st goal for us I would have mixed feelings to say the least.

Anyways it’s all probably not important.

I meant league goals, which I can’t remember him scoring.

He’s got an 8 year contract. He needs to endear himself to their fans anyway, so it’s probably not compatible, as you say.

I think so too,. Those lads in the Eng u21s must be an agents dream bet they have offers from all over. Cole is not the only one, Hall, Gordon, Hudson Odoi, the twat at Forest who called Rodri a pitta bread or something, many others no doubt got themselves nice moves.
Would loved to have seen him and Doku either side but that's pro Sport for you .

Thor is a city fan so if he had done it that would have been great , cole doing it for the chavs is tragic

Palmer feels loved and brilliantly welcomed. He feels at home among his new friends and teammates, and the fans have shown him nothing but love so far, and he in turn has hit the ground running. He's basically a Chelsea fan now :)

Seriously though, with the amount badge kissing and badge tapping I see these days, it is a meaningless gesture. Jackson has been doing it too. Pretty sure I saw Hojlund do it the other day. It would not surprise me if Mount did it when he scores his first goal. Lukaku has done it for about 9 different clubs haha. It's a meaningless gesture, so I wouldn't get on Palmer's back about it to be honest, nor would I read too much into it as a Chelsea fan.
