He wasn’t being literal. There’s a perfectly fair argument to be made that Chelsea have been the most successful team of the last 15-20 years. Making that claim to an in-house club TV channel in his first interview is perfectly fine.
No there isn't and whether its in house or not just don't say things like that, you set yourself upfor a fall !!

Well by joining and commenting on another teams forum I think you've answered your own question
Haha. That's a clever answer :)

Not accurate in my case, but impossible to argue against!

Well we've won 17 major trophies in ghe last 12 years !
I think I'd have to take issue with the term 'major', as if the League and FA Cups are major trophies, what constitutes a minor trophy that any Premier league team might compete for?

European success is undoubtedly a big part of what Poch was referring to, and as City fans know, it's very hard to win European silverware.

I guess the side of the debate most take goes pretty much along tribal lines. City fans will focus on domestic dominance while Chelsea fans will point towards European success and a clean sweep of all trophies we've been eligible to win.

They're not even paying over the odds in terms of transfer fees to Chelsea - we signed Koulibaly for 30m a year ago, sold him for 20m, we signed Ziyech for 32m, he was close to leaving for 8m and Mendy we signed around 22m and he left for, I think, 15-18m. So we're taking losses on each of them. Where they are paying over the odds is the wages these players are being given.

Yes, but once again, you had a lot of players you didn't want on large salaries that may have been an obstacle to you getting rid. That obstacle has been conveniently removed now due to the wages being offered in Saudi.

So saying you are making "losses" on them doesn't mean much. Let's just agree that the Saudi thing is extremely "coincidental" and "beneficial" to Chelsea and leave it at that without trying to rationalise it.

I would take issue with the term "major" when you refer to Europe ! In my opinion you have won 2 major European trophies to our 1. Some, including me, would argue that the Europa league is not a major trophy. City have been competing in the CL and although only won it once, have a better record in terms of finals, semis, etc, than Chelsea in the last 12 years. Had we been in the Europa league I think there would have been a very good chance we might have won it a few times over the last 10 years, as the standard is nowhere near as high as the CL ! Also, the super and world club trophies are 100% not major trophies, just prestige friendlies in reality. As for the domestic trophies most would say the FA and league cups do count as major trophies. I quite like Poch but he would be better served not making daft comments. He has never won a domestic trophy whilst managing in England !
