What about the other dead weight dross like Sterling and Mount?
Or do you consider them part of the squad.
Sterling dead weight??? He was their top scorer on 9 goals last season :)

Their top scorers for the last 3 seasons added up, exactly matches the Viking Meat Shields efforts this season just gone. They really do need a striker.

Bloody hell, an 8 year contract for the new lad...

I don’t consider either of them deadwood. I need to see how Sterling performs under Poch. He ended up being our top scorer last season but I was very disappointed with his effort the second half of the season. Hopefully with a new season and a new manager, he gets some of his mojo back. With Mount, he looked very close to a move to United a few days ago. I hope to god he stays.
Sterling will never be as productive as he was, like all players he has flaws but he’s regressed so much, his control of the ball and decision making is why we mugged you for £45m.

The squad will reduce. These are the players who have either already left or close to leaving.

Havertz
Kovacic
Kante
Koulibaly
Mendy
Ziyech
Mount
Azpi
Auba
Loftus-Cheek

We’ve already sent Felix and Zakaria back to their clubs.
That’s 12 players and there are further rumours about Pulisic and Chalobah (who I really hope stays), if they leave also that’s 14 players.

And we don’t know what’s happening with Lukaku, but it seems like Chelsea do not want him back here under any circumstances.

So far we’ve only brought in Nkunku plus Gusto and Colwill as returning loanees plus very close to announcing Jackson from Villarreal. So 4 incoming potentially 12 who have left or close to leaving.

If squad size was 33 last season, minus 12 plus 4 make it 25 players.
The players you signed are not good enough, you’re squad is not up to top 4, Bohely is a bit of a clown football wise.

Probably not but what I’m saying is even though I was disappointed by his effort parts of of last season and I expected more output, I’m not ready to give up on him and I hope to see better things from his next season.

Sterling was never worth what you paid but thank you very much. :-)

If any manager gets him looking like a decent player over a season then he'd or she'd have done an amazing job. He looked a shadow of himself for a long time before he left and its only getting longer.

That remains to be seen. Your opinion on Boehly and Chelsea is well established. We’ve argued about it many times before. We gain nothing by trying to engage with each other in this thread

Yeah I’m not expecting peak Sterling we saw 3-4 years ago, but Poch can get his off the ball movement working again and he can fix our chance creating issues, then we’re at least doing our part in setting him up for success. If he still fails to live up to par after that, then it’s probably time consider moving him but we’re not there yet. I feel optimistic about the new season :)

Gary Neville likes this post, but he has very poor judgement.
That's some comedy gold right there :)

To those alluding to us preferring Kepa over Mendy this season being somehow shady..

Mendy was injured.
Mendy wanted wage parity with Kepa and that was not going to happen.
Mendy is absolute shite with the ball at his feet, and as we all know, keepers need to be able to play a bit these days.

I think Chelsea will finish above Arsenal, united and Newcastle. Ooooooo!
