whilst you mention mendy, what exactly has happened to him, kepa couldnt get a game , then all of a sudden mendy cant get a game and is/has been sold, i may of missed something during the season regarding thisThe argument I made about the long contracts was that FFP dodge sounds very sketchy and mischievous whereas I looked at the long contract as a fair way to remain compliant with the rules set by the governing bodies. It isn’t gaining an unfair advantage and it was only stopped because UEFA thinks it’s a harmful practice to the clubs doing it. So you can call it an FFP dodge but unless you don’t mean that in the negative way I took it to mean, then I still maintain you were wrong about that :)
About the Saudi thing. It’s really just one player we’re talking about here. Koulibaly. Mendy is on super low wages, like around £55ka week. Ziyech is on around £100k a week. These were not difficult players to shift to Europe at all. They are the ones who were presented with a chance to move to Saudi and they accepted. Up until Saudi approached them, Mendy was being heavily linked with a move back to France and Ziyech was being linked moves to Turkey and Italy and he was reportedly happy to take a paycut to leave.
Now that Arsenal and you lot are on the verge of giving us £100m for Havertz and Kovacic, I very much doubt we were in any serious FFP trouble for this year, wether we sold Koulibaly or not.
