Chelsea Thread | 2024/25

I think most have to go on loan, but didn't they change the rules on loans a few years back, specifically because it was felt Chelsea and City were hoarding too much talent?

Maybe Boehly is confusing it with the NFL, they seem to have half a county on the sidelines that and tag in and out every few seconds.
The Chelsea roster is bigger than the Miami dolphins. In what sort of world do the owners live? You cannot build a successful team with this sort of strategy

Neto is a good player if hes fit but not a player I think we needed at all and there's somehow even less need for Chelsea to sign him.

Sterling, palmer, mudryck, madueke are all first team wingers, more than enough there, then nkunku is more than comfortable in that position too and there's a bunch of other young options behind them.

Thing is, some of those players mentioned are literally unsellable too, they'd make such a hefty loss on selling them that in PSR terms, it would actually cost them to sell. Didn't they pay about £90 million on mudryck 18 months ago on a 9 year deal? At this point in his contract they'd have to sell him for about £70 million just to break even on the sale for PSR, this is the major consequence of handing out these 8-9 year deals, on a standard 4-5 year contract, he'd be a £50m liability instead of a £70m one.

Once they've burned through their academy players to sell, They'll end up having to sell the few players that have been a success for them as everybody else would cost them money to get rid of.

Once this starts happening and you see Chelsea having to sell say palmer and keep mudryck and the fans who don't understand it's a necessity lose their shit as they see their best players sold and the flops stay, that's when it gets ugly at chelsea.

They might not give a fuck but how is it sustainable?

They must have at least 30 first team players on their books which has to be trimmed down to 25 plus you have to factor in the home grown quota both English and trained at the club.

Unless they're about to have a huge fire sale it's just not going to work

No idea but we keep hearing that "these guys are billionaires they know what they are doing"

Also with hedge fund buyouts of clubs you don't actually know who the backers are, Abramovich could well be funded it all!

It's why in America the buying of sporting teams is forbidden using Hedge funds!

I find it irresponsible by those who run the premier to allow American owners buy so many football clubs in this country using hedge funds even Ipswich got bought using this method!

Fucking stinks and English football are in for a big awakening in years to come!!

Chelsea and PSG take the absolute pi$$.

So never forget it’s not the spending it’s the success they object to!!
