Spare me any bollocks about luck. Under Hughes we conceded for fun, Mancini comes along and HALVES the goals we concede overnight with the exact same players, now we're conceding for fun again. It's time Mancini gets credit for how good our defence was.
Well our away form was hardly great under Mancini, apart from a honeymoon period at the start of the 2011-2012 season our away form has been disgraceful tbh.
You can see improvements though. We completely dominated against Villa and West Ham, grinded out a win in Moscow something we could never do in Europe under Mancini and we dominated for long periods today against a very good side.
Last season was a problem of too many draws, not too many losses. Under Mancini we lost five games last season - same as the rags, we've just spent £90 million on attacking players so it is logical that our attack would improve. Unfortunately, due to our defensive errors, after being the best defence for three seasons running, we are now the 11th best defence in the division. I think the evidence is there to call it a problem.
Honestly? Champions League, that's your comeback? CSKA were fucking shite. They are currently the fourth best team in their own city and were in terrible form having lost four out of five, drawing the other one. Last time we played a team that terrible away from home in the Champions League i.e. Villareal, we won. Mancini had two much tougher groups. However, if you're wanting so desperately to cling to the Champions League for some stick to beat Mancini with, try this one, we were fourteen games unbeaten at home in Europe under Mancini. So far under Pellegrini, it's one humiliating loss, so it's not best to get too fucking cocky eh?
