You would have given any of the PL teams a tough time today. Your defence was solid and the 4 in front of them had a great shape, which stopped us playing through the gaps. Your work rate was superb and you all worked for each other.

He's a young lad on loan and getting his first taste of pro football. He's played non stop since the season began and showed signs lately of fatigue. He was subbed which wasn't planned due our injuries. Three first teamers out hence we actually named two keepers on the bench. We're down to the bare bones but no money to replace them.

We had real issues with fitness and team selection there.

Absolutely no way you can assess players when we had a new system with a bunch of players who have barely seen the pitch recently. Mendy, Jesus, Mahrez and Laporte all need minutes and rust was obvious. Fitting the kids into the mix was risky and the whole thing was a recipe for diasaster but thankfully Gundogan, Cancelo and Dias could re-assert our shape in time.

That’s a character building win, we could look back fondly on it much like the Swansea 3-2 a few years back.

Don’t be fooled by the shirt numbers. That was the way that City played under Mercer and Allison. It’s not that far away from the way that Walker, Cancelo, and Zinchenko play.

Certainly Pardoe was very similar in style to Zinchenko. Both played most of their career at no 3 yet both started out as attacking midfield players and neither are anything like orthodox left backs.

Those who never saw the Mercer-Allison team play May get fixated by the shirt numbers. Those of us who watched them will not be.

Torres had no supply on the first half, when he got swapped to the right wing in the second half he had 3 on him at times. Mahrez should be carrying these kids , same as Mendy. Fucking sick of the twat smiling and laughing on the pitch all the time. Doyle did well first half but I would have brought the fat twat mendy off. Thought mahrez and Mendy did well for Cheltenham, Torres was unsure who he was playing for, foden was class and some. Pissed a right few people off did the last ten and I love it.
