Chinese Consortium invests $400m in CFG

They sure did! You could see the expression on their little faces was priceless ' city have blindsided every other major club with this deal' ' the most exciting and extraordinary football deal I have seen' ' this will catapult the city brand to the next level'. The response from those eejuts.... Pause, painful look at each other...pause' now over to avram grant to talk about the Chelsea stadium refurb. Priceless.

Ha ha, shame I wasn't watching. Do you know something though? What that bloke said reminds me a lot of what someone on here said ages ago and it's always stuck with me. That as big as clubs like United, Madrid, Bayern, and Barca are, in terms of the business world their turnovers are pitiful in comparison to the size of their customer/support base. In other words, they're nowhere near close to maximising their financial potential yet City have employed some of the best business minds around and are securing some incredible deals through their contacts and the contacts of our owner. They can cry about mates rates deals, money laundering, and cooking the books as much as they want but the simple fact is that we have far better people working on these kinds of deals at our club than anyone at those clubs mentioned above.

Fair enough... My first post was probably a bit off the mark... but to be honest, I think the club have cocked up announcing such news on the day of a game!

To me, it just seems to undervalue the actual football, especially when the game seems to be going a bit under the radar for most anyway! The game should always be the most important thing, Always!

What game? Fuck that, I'm going for a wank over this deal. Then I'm cracking open the popcorn and going to watch that thread on Rag Cafe go nucleur. You can have my ticket if you want!

Blows my mind on the financial side...it really does...where does it end...or does it?

Fantastic deal for CFG.

It's the only way CFG could make serious inroads into China as all Chinese businesses have to be owned or part-owned by Chinese companies. I expect that all of the 'new' money will have to be spent in China and that a Beijing City FC or Shanghai City FC will be along on the near future, complete with Academy.

City already has a partnership with a Chinese Lottery company https://www.mcfc.co.uk/news/club-news/2015/january/dji-holdings-announcement, and don't forget this advert from earlier this year https://jobs.sportcareers.co.uk/Advert/745-Football-Coach-Coach-Educator-(Beijing)-Jobs-Asia.aspx

Football Coach / Coach Educator
Company Description:

China ClubFootball is China’s biggest grassroots football provider, and a licensed joint-venture. Established to promote and develop grassroots football in China, ClubFootball operates grassroots coaching programmes for Chinese and international children in Beijing, as well as leagues, competitions and events for men, women and corporate clients. ClubFootball also provides an on-the-ground presence in China for a variety of project partners including the Premier League, Manchester City and British Council.

Potential sponsors will be falling over themselves to get a piece of the expanded exposure, which can only be positive for MCFC.

The beauty with such deals is the fact that the top people running our club are delivering on all the off field promises for which they have an element of control. No one should doubt that they have our (as well as obviously their own) best interests at heart in terms of making our football club the biggest and best on the planet. What is exciting (or for some on here the source of moaning and complaints) is that, whilst aiming for the best in terms of footballing achievement, all the uncontrollable elements make the on-field outcomes uncertain. Who knows what Pep and Messi are really thinking!!

So fellow blues, strap yourself in, enjoy the ride, as I'm sure there will be a lot more excitement to come in the next few months!
