Chris Wilder criticises perceived bias from officials

Ok fair enough but he does single out sports washing as something that is corrupt. Thats not aimed at lfc or utd is it.

Anyway I certainly dont think there's cheating, just biases and avoiding media shit when its utd or liverpool. They wield more media power and they use it.

So we all know it happens. Utd get a poor ref decisions. Media campaign, PGMOL under the microscope... And we all expect the refs to even it out in the next game, even their own fans. I thought it was just a given. (Though it might just be that it naturally evens itself out I suppose)

And then FFP, clearly setup for the stronger clubs. Its all examples of strange biases that go on. Id assume there's some of that when dealing with refs. You know, like Utd not having a penalty awarded against them at OT, just refs scared to give them. And I do really try to see it from a neutral pov. Not a conspiracy nut, more a realist.
This sportswashing thing has always aggravated me its a term invented to sound like arabs are in some way inherently corrupt and the usa and russia etc are in some ways bastions of fairness and moral superiority, most countries have their shady dealings and shame and most if not all have blood on their hands, sportswashing is complete bullshit and should be called out for what it is and the simple fact is that when you say a country is sportswashing you are saying money is okay as long as it doesnt come from arabs, its a nice term for racism and thats all it is.

"Logically, most of this stuff is pure nonsense. Conspiracy and corruption takes place in back rooms, with cynical actors working to manipulate events in their favour. But fans don’t preoccupy themselves with the really sinister parts of football - the governance of the world game protecting corporate interests while facilitating sports washing on an industrial scale."

So basically there's no cheating, no bias, we're all mad, but City and Newcastle are cheats. You believe that? No tribalism there?
Referees are, and always have been, influenced by pressure from crowds. That's why bigger teams get better decisions in home matches. There has always been bias in football and always will be. I don't think there is much overt corruption (though there has certainly been some over the years) but to suggest there has been no bias is ridiculous. Some referees are too cowardly to give decisions and some VAR officials are too cowardly to drop their pals in it. This sort of bias exists in all walks of life. I am not sure there is an easy solution unless you become so good (like City) you can compensate for the bad decisions you get.

Thats how I see it too, thats what I meant.

“Hopefully he enjoyed his sandwich whilst talking to a PL manager”

Are people not allowed to eat in your presence Chris?

Anyway not for much longer, you plonker.

There’s an accompanying clip on the BBC website of him actually saying it.
Fair enough. I wasn't doubting you, I just read an article and didn't see any mention of a referee. I have to say I'm glad that Wilder has opened up. The more people within the game call out the - at best, shocking standard - at worst, corruption of the officials, the more pressure will grow on them to simply do their fucking jobs.

literally anyone but the scousers, with their victim mentality they dont have any semblance of rationality or sane thought even when the evidence is in front of their eyes.
OK, so visit literally any other clubs forum and you will find accusations of corruption against them and only them (or sometimes collectively as "smaller clubs") that are broadly similar as anyone else's forum.
The reason I brought Liverpool into it was that another poster (on page 1) said bias was an open conversation from all fans APART from Liverpool, suggesting they don't discuss it because they know the bias is for them and only them when in actual fact they believe it's just as corrupt against them as any other fan believes.

I guess our home crowd is to laid back ;)

I’m not sure increasing pressure on people is normally the best route to improving standards but we’ll see.

Just came across to me like yet another manager crying like a baby about the standard of refereeing because they got beat.

And the bizarre sandwich comment just makes him look unhinged.

Nail on head!

How dare these filthy ragheads spend billions turning an East Manchester post industrial bombsite into something quite extraordinary, creating thousands of jobs whilst Governments of both parties and local authorities look on having done nothing over the decades!

Horrible lot!
