City bus scheme for home games - bus tracking (P91)

@matchdaybus For MC12, why does the driver wait at Harpurhey for ten minutes after the scheduled departure time to then get caught in the traffic on Queens Road through Monsall meaning we arrive 15 mins late?

Secondly the old timetable was eg 18:10 Radcliffe then 18:40 Harpurhey (30 mins) and only just arrived on time when I used it, so I think the new 20 min allowance is ambitious, or is that typos on the website?

There were only 9 people on the bus last night, is there any feedback received as to why this route doesn’t seem very popular?
The 53 bus already goes from Harpurhey to the Etihad. Maybe people are used to using that?

The Man City match day bus 8 is currently operating 25 minutes behind schedule this afternoon. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I'll feed back on the recent comments next week about MC7, 12 and 13.

Great going yesterday. The driver was on time picking up in Altrincham and we were at the ground for 2pm. Going home though was gruelling. We were delayed by a tfgm bloke telling the driver not to leave until 17:25. The driver said he was told 20 minutes after the game ended but no 17:25 it was....or supposed to be. When we got to that time this same bloke held us up even longer. @matchdaybus any idea why this was, or why he was interfering when the club has hired the bus?

For some reason the traffic on the first left turn on leaving the ground was gridlocked and hardly moving. I noticed there was some kind of steward attempting to marshall the traffic and he held up the bus and let about 6 to 8 cars into the queue ahead of us. Irritating. It took an age to clear that first road, we were then stuck in the normal huge backlog of traffic trying to get onto the Mancunian way. The end result is we ended up back a full 35 minutes later than we did on leaving the Brentford game. Still it is a pleasant experience onboard, much better than changing buses and trams. The crowd are decent and our driver very friendly and happy to help.

As I was stuck in the gridlocked traffic I thought how brilliant it would be if there was a bus lane allowing public transport to run smoothly. If that was a possibility more people would use it, certainly at rush hour and when big events are in town. I suppose there just isn't the space on many roads to put it into operation, a pity.

There appeared to be traffic issues all over town yesterday. MC11 left just before 17.25 and arrived at Boothstown at 19.20 The driver turned around at the old retail park on Gt Ancoats St, went back past the stadium, on to Alan Turing Way and via a circuitous route through Cheetham Hill and Higher Broughton eventually got back on track at Salford University. No blame on the driver just sheer volume of traffic which will probably stop me using it on a Saturday 3 o’clock kick off.

Gridlock in Town yesterday with loads of half term Halloween stuff on, nice weather and usual road closure at Freight Island for an event

they couldve built a guided busway from ground to town quiet easy like one through tyldesley must be cheaper than tramway

Most stadiums in Europe are surrounded by bus lanes and buses get priority. The situation at our stadium is diabolical with trams blocked by random cars etc.
