I wonder what the current phase of installation is?
They said when they first announced it. The discs are going to spell out the lyrics to "Bluemoon". There are four phases, one for each verse so that they don't have to wait for all the discs to sell out before placing them down. I'd be very surprised if they'd sold enough yet to be ready to put down more than verse one. It was always intended on being a long-term thing.
Edit: my bad, actually they said "they could divide it into phases, such as verses, if necessary". So actually, the current phase could be anything.
In other news, how many people do you think have submitted the inscription

I emailed the below 2 weeks ago:
"Has this been completely forgotten about? At the point of sale, I was told:
Phase one of the construction is set to commence in 2013, with subsequent phases to follow later.
On the website it says:
We would like to be in a position to install Phase 1 during the 2012-13 Season and hope that the subsequent phases will follow shortly afterwards.
I understand the following was advised:
All customers will be advised by email periodically as to the estimated timeframe for their disc installation date.
Nothing has been updated in ages. This is pretty poor. I am very disappointed. I could have held off this or not bothered. I don't have many pennies, but I kind of expected to show my wife this around our anniversary date, and now I can't even say it'll be there for our 2nd anniversary. I am glad I have not purchased more."
No response.

I had a right polava trying to track it down and getting it resent. Apparently City only license the product from a company based in Birmingham who also produce them for other clubs too.
I was also wondering what was happening with the installation, as all seems eerily quiet on The Etihad front. I just have a feeling that the circles will come around again (sorry, couldn't resist) when the stadium expansion work is passed and commences.
I suppose I can see the sense in doing all the heavy, dirty work all in one hit. Still gutted it hasn't been done yet though......

If it is demand that is an issue, perhaps putting the existing circles to use on a more manageable project in the mean time?
Would help if there was a counter of the numbers we have and numbers we need to reach.

Mine arrived in the post recently. At a guess, take-up was slower than expected, and so they're holding off on an announcement until they A - have enough to actually do something with and B - have decided how to fit it around the stadium redevelopment plans.

I had a package bought for me as a prezzie for my 50th.
My copy duly arrived and looks great but that was back in early May this year.
I too think they're stalling due to a poor take up. Don't know what the answer is maybe scale it down but think nothing will be done until expansion.

I too bought one of these immediately upon release and it would appear, just as with so many other examples we have seen or heard mention of in the last 18 months such as 'Seat for Life', 'Ticket Bundles', 'Viagogo Free Pie', 'Jamie's Burgers', '£100 to join a queue' and this 'City Circle', that City are are trying too hard to please and in doing so the quality on suitability of what they are coming up with for fans to feel part of, or commit to the club are becoming ever more flawed.
The core theme in all these ideas is to extract as much dough as is physically possible from our limited budgets. In short, this City Circle has clearly been seen by the majority for what it is; over indulgent opportunism that has this time simply come back to bite the marketing department in the arse!
I too, as someone has previously mentioned, expect the scale of this circle to be reduced or be completely cancelled and refunds issued. What I won't tolerate if it comes to pass, as seen with unsold CL Tickets, the unsold City Circles are given away or offered at reduced prices to anyone committing to buy a bobble hat from the shop or doing a stadium tour.

Ive emailed the club again. I'll update any reply I get in this thread. I'm not a happy chappy. If it is the expansion that is holding up the installation they should be upfront about it, I'm prepared to wait. What is cheesing me off is the lack of communication.
