City Fans Leaving Early/Empty seats

Fans leave early at every ground and the ones that are the same size as City's see fans streaming out also. Old Trafford they have to queue up to leave early due to poor space standards. Maybe try going to the Stadium of Light and see what happen there.

Every time I have left an away ground it has always been choca with home fans outside already even if one of the first out. Yet we get plastic fans who clearly don't go away who are "embarrassed" or juts clearly on a wind up.

The Stadium of Light also has a problem with early leavers when they are being beaten heavily. But ours is every week. Bizarrely, its actually worse when we are winning convincingly than when we have had a poor result.

And do you really think its only plastics and people that don't go that have an issue with it ??? FFS If it wasn't for the 15,000 that stay and and want others to stay and support the players off the pitch after a 5-0 win the stadium would be completely empty at the final whistle and we might as well just pack it in.

What you on about you plum ? The last time I bothered counting I'd been to over 50 league grounds so I think that gives me a fair idea of what travel issues are at away grounds. Yesterday I stayed to the end, was driving and would have been home within 25 mins if it wasn't for the road works on the A6 in Levenshulme.

Understand problems if supporters cant walk far and have to use the club car parks, but anybody that is able bodied can use a bit of common sense and being stuck in traffic

Good point this. It seems to me that one person or group leaves and it's the green light for others to follow. And once a few start leaving others will say "Come on, let's go". I've been at games, including night games, when virtually no one leaves before the end yet the same problems of trams, traffic, need to get the kids home, etc are still there. So I'd say a lot of the problem is psychological in that when a few start leaving, the rest follow. To me, as a supporter, you support the team from when they come out on the pitch to when the final whistle blows. They were superb yesterday and deserved the acclaim at the end. Yet for around 15,000 people, it was seemingly more important to get on the tram or out of the car park a few minutes early.

So true. Sheep mentality. A row stands to let somebody out and 5 others take the chance of leaving at the same time. Why on earth anybody would not want to applaud the team off yesterday is mind boggling to me.

At the derby, I found myself stood totally isolated in my block and got a wave off Willy.

It drives me to distraction Colin. The problem is worse at City than any other PL ground I can think of. Some don't think it's an issue, and that is of course their prerogative, but for me it's poor stuff. And as you say, when the team played like it did yesterday and the level of appreciation at the final whistle is 10000 to 20000 empty seats, it's not hard to see why Pep has the hump

I could understand it to a degree at somewhere like Sunderland, where the team are bottom of the table and 4-0 down after 80 minutes. Why would you want to stay for that.

But we were 4-0 up with every chance of scoring more. It's Saturday lunchtime so no one's getting home at 1am after a 9:30pm finish. Kids aren't going to school the next day. Don't understand it.

I think it has something to do with the total lethargy shown on the pitch by most of the players for 3 seasons now,even though this season there as been a marked improvement on the effort front from them,imo

People go early because they want to. Simple. To get home or the pub.

Not for me. I remember a few games. Two v Reading when we scored late winners. I had nearly a full row to celebrate in my own. Those games were more than 3 years ago.

I remember being in the kippax from 69 onwards(67 and 68 platt lane) and every game the platt lane would begin the exodus around the 80 minute mark,cue the song from the kippax " part time supporters ".so whats changed ?

Each to their own as been said ,I have the Maine road mentality ,you Carnt get rid of it ,stay till the end even if you getting a hammering.just doesn't sit right with me leaving early

I can imadgine a fair few families missed it due to kick off time, as I did myself
There are many that plan there weekend family activities around a afternoon Saturday or Sunday kick off time, with kids committed to there own football, karate, golf lessons or what ever activities they have
I don expect Those Whithout kids to understand and I'm not making excuses it's a fact. if it was 3 pm or 4 pm today then I'm sure there would have been a nearly full stadium As usual .
My tickets was used by someone else and I know that the old bloke and mrs who travel from edinbrough every home game and evening games didn't make this one.

Watching the replay it wasn't just the family stand that had gaps in, lots of which are tickets used by the club and not St holders there mas shit loads of empty seats in the east stand also, unless they came in fancy dress as blue seats.
Wish all the family haters would lay off the family stand and stop targeting them when it's the same all over the ground.

You said what has gone on the pitch in the last 3 years as being the reason. I said that is rubbish.

You then said it happened in the 60s.

So you agree it not the action on the pitch. It's just people and their choice
