City fans rushed by Spanish Police

Official statement?

Arsenal, Liverpool, United and Chelsea fans would piss themselves at that. Welcome to playing in Europe. Corrupt police forces are the norm. Not saying it's right, just that these smaller incidents happen a lot to English fans and go unreported. Look at United in Rome too, they were treated like shit but none were surprised as they've been there and done that.

It's a bit different though when you go looking for it. United were kicking off everywhere in Rome as they usually do.

Not trying to defend the rags here but they've been in europe a lot longer than we have, a few years of our fans getting attacked for no reason and I'm sure our fans will be kicking off everywhere too.

Got a problem that I called these mighty public servants, the officers, PIGS?
To bad.
What you want to do about it?

What a sad bastard you are.

Sorry for the typo, TOO instead of TO, my keyboard is not what it used to be.

Now, that we are done with pleasantries, go call the piggies and give them a link to my post if this is what you want to do.
You will likely be rewarded like a good servant of the system you are.

The fact that people posting here were afraid to take pictures of the brutality so they will not get beaten up even more, is outrageous.

But next time when you will want to take a picture with your cellphone and they will beat you up (and your friends that happen to be walking with you TOO), do not forget your previous craven attitude. Maybe as a result, grateful that they let you live you will support the police with more fervor, making a donation for the 'heroes', the brotherhood of the PIGS.

Matter of fact, you model citizen should support the police, beat yourself up to save them the hassle.

I've not read the whole thread. I'm simply disgusted by your ignorant comments.

I am a pig and a pleb. I work with some of the hardest working, bravest people I have ever known. Yes, we don't always get it right but seriously I hope you have been banned and never need our help. You my friend would shit yourself if you ever had to deal with the kind of incidents and people that we find ourselves dealing with every day. Grow up.

You have to see the Spanish police without their weapons and helmets; camp as fuck and soft as shit. With their helmets, power and batons they are something quite different.

Bert ignore him. He spouted the same bollox downstairs in the cellar and was rounded upon.

You have no need to justify yourself

Thought their behaviour would have just been like that with visiting football fans, until I saw the no comment tv on euro news before. Shocking. One bloke getting punched in the face, another getting batons across his back and one guy walking away with blood pouring from his face. Fucking animals.

Sp much for a peaceful protest.

From all accounts they had absolutely no need to do what they did , and it would appear that they 'steamed' into a few high spirited City fans just 'because they could' ... they will get away with it of course , they always do , but the Spanish equivalent of the home office should have something to say about this , and the many other incidents , that these thugs ,who masquerade as policemen , have been involved in.

I don't care if people accuse me of generalising, but thats how cops in the Mediterranean countries are. I've experienced it plenty of times. Similar to the scenes in that video. Indiscriminate charges at crowds containing women and kids. Then you get the odd un-provoked baton charge as you exit the ground.

It all goes back to an image of English fans that was formed in the 70s and 80s.

I prefer going to places like Germany now.

A quote from the Spanish equivalent of the Police Federation after last night's disturbances in Madrid:

Protesters complained that police officers hid badges so they could not be identified. "They don't wear them and we back that when they deal with violent groups. Give them hell and that's it!" tweeted Jose Manuel Sanchez, of the SUP police union.

Tells you everything you need to know about these thugs.

They did the same to us inside and outside the ground when we played Atletico Madrid. They just batter people indiscriminately. They'll end up killing someone one of these days.

The tide is turning, these images from ñlast night´s peaceful protest have pissed people right off. The Spanish dibble will be facing a tremendous backlash and now their salaries are being cut they have nowhere to turn.

This lad was battered to the bone. It has now been confirmed he is now paraplegic. The Police are fully blamed.

Whilst its no consolation, that is what those Blues unsuspectingly walked into. Madrid is a tinderbox and i am very surprised GMP did not warn fans what is happening.
