City Fans V Bayern Fans

I dont buy into all this atmosphere has an impact on the pitch in games like last night. You could have put that Bayern side in any stadium renowned for its intense atmosphere, flares, banners, intimidation and I'd put most of what I own on them still walking away winners. Players and sides of that quality are just too adapted to those situations and deal with it.

As for the Bayern fans, yes hats off you were able to make a decent show of your support from a relatively small allocation. For me personally I couldn't think of much worse than having to be directed by some muppet with a megaphone, his drum banging sidekick, jumping up and down for 90 minutes straight like some pre tuned robot. Everything is too fine tuned for my liking, give me a good drink and different groups of lads bouncing songs of each other any day of the week. Its just not the English thing to be like Ze Germans so we either improve our old tried and tested methods or we slowly slip into the modern day corporate slumming football 'spectator' that riddles grounds up and down the country.

Ongoing droning away support like that always kills the atmosphere amongst city fans because no songs drift from 111 to south stand, or vice versa. Many times last night two city songs were going on at once, neither side were aware and the rest of the ground didn't join in with the muddled noise.

As always, pulling the two singing ends together will give the ground one voice and songs will catch on around the ground more.

That's why we get these threads every time we play these bouncing euro clowns.

What we need is a Capo.....

What do you think lads?

I think I can see you in that photo Levets ;o)

Agree completely with you.

Last night was my first time ever down in 110 and it is completely apparent that as soon as the Bayern fans made any sort of noise (and I mean even a little bit) that 110/111 and the South Stand just couldn't get their shit together.

how anyone thinks that is a good way of 'supporting' a team is beyond me. 2 people at the front telling the rest what to sing. two people who are not even watching the game!! how the fuck do they know what's going off. I prefer our atmosphere, the type that involves watching the actual game and getting excited at certain aspects of the game. it seemed like ages for them to realise that the first went in because the knob heads were too busy watching the knob in the white tshirt telling them what to sing. not once did they clap a tackle. if one of our players put in a challenge like lahm did on navas, everyone in the stadium would of been up applauding and then sing a song about that player. they don't give a toss about the players or whats going on out on the pitch, they just give a toss about watching two numptys telling them what to sing and listening out for a drummer, whilst singing the same song over and over and over and over again. I'd get bored really easily if I was in a section like that everyweek. give me an un orchestrated atmosphere anyday of the week. give me people getting passionate about the game, singing and cheering when things happen out on the pitch. not that bollocks they did.

Regimented automata v holistic naturalism. That's NOT naturism BTW - we should all remain clothed.
Every time I read one of your posts, the voice I hear in my head is the very subtly slurred posh voice Keith Moon used. If ever I got to a BM meet up and you were there, I'd be devastated if you weren't quaffing brandy and calling everyone "dear boy".

Brilliant!

German man u as in its easy to support them - lots of fans aren't from Bavaria, etc., you literal get! Not saying that they're owt like them on the pitch! I wish we could replicate their volume, but it just sounded like one song for 90 minutes to me...not that we covered ourselves in glory for support...we haven't for a long time.

Don't want to get in trench warfare matey, but it certainly didn't sound like just one song. They had numerous songs.

They had at least four good ones and the coordinated swaying and stuff was impressive.
It was fantastic. Best support I have seen.

I'm from Poland and I love English style ... When Ultras prepare choreographies at gym for week, you drinking beer at pub :)

Fail to see how you can be impressed by organised sheep line dancers; all choosing to watch a man in a white t shirt rather than the game.

Not just this, but the non stop singing and the sheer co ordination in supporting their team,.

Their songs were boring and I've never heard so many people sound monotone at the same time , the drum sucked. They looked cool sometimes , but it never seems like the continental euros everyone on the Internet loves so much are having a good time.

Ill take the old man behind me calling fernandinho a **** even when yaya fucked up 10 times out of ten over some overrated 4th reich training exercise.

anyone hoping for a decent atmosphere at the Etihad should keep this post in mind, and weep

Exactly. Just hope he's in the small minority. Its very sad indeed.
