City fined £35,000 for anti-doping admin error

The Guardian has published a little more detail and it gets worse, although we'll probably only get a £25k fine. https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...ter-city-doping-test-charges?CMP=share_btn_tw

It seems that on three separate occasions we had incorrect information on at least 5 squad members when testing staff turned up. 5 is apparently the trigger point for the FA so they do allow some leeway. But if that's true and on three occasions we've had incorrect information for 5 or more players then someone wants shooting, despite the over-sensational headlines.
No wonder City don`t want to make a song and dance about it.Been very quiet on the Western Front.

Got to say I'm very disappointed that our club have let this matter get to this point. We clearly have moved on from the days before the take-over but this worries me that we might have taken our eye off the ball on some subjects. If City are short of someone who can keep the records up to date then I'm happy to do this job for them.

P.M. me City.

Typical fucking city.

At least as a corporate entity we still come across as human. We aren't perfect and dont portray that image, unlike some who are arrogant bordering on pious.

It shows how far we've come when folk are getting upset over paperwork!

Is it really that bad?.....Nah!

I reckon it will turn up to be something so incredibly minor that the majority of clubs would have a breach but ....ahem not all are dealt with to the letter of the law.

It's not even 12 months since 75k people were evacuated because somebody didn't check the shitters at The swamp yet somehow we are to believe their admin is infallible.

I'm calling bollox & not blaming anyone until further info is released.

In the last week we've been accused of being drug cheats, financial cheats, got a coach whose a sulk over rated & should know his place, our only sympathetic voice in the local media has been suspended & we got Clattenburg on Sunday.

I'm telling you beating Barcelona has pissed off the establishment.

The only detailed source at the moment seems to be the Guardian. Reading their most recent article they seem to be pretty balanced about it - no lurid headlines. The way I read it though, is that city have transgressed officially 3 times in a year with details of more than 5 players whereabouts. So I guess its how you look at it. Is it admin and paperwork - yes, nobody could argue that. Is it also a key part of anti drug policing to ensure that random testing is effective - yes it certainly is. So personally i'm pretty disappointed that the club have let this happen. If it happens once - that's a mistake. If it happens three times, thats more systemic failure in what is an important regulatory process.
