City football shirts everywhere

I'm in exactly the same boat as you StrutterBlue...I'm born and bred in the West Midlands, my dad, mum, uncles, grandparents were all from Manchester and were all blues.... I was even named after two City legends. My first game was in 1978 and I'm a ST holder. I have travelled from the Midlands for years to watch City. I've now decided that I'll turn it on its head and wind the detractors up a bit...Whenever I get "when did you jump on the bandwagon?" or sneered at for being a non manc and a glory hunter I reply with "I've been a City fan for the last ten years or so but before that I followed Chelsea and United in the 90s and 00s and followed Liverpool in the 80s....I like to watch a winning team, dont you?" The reaction I get from them is incredulous. I Once gave this answer to someone in the pub who had the cheek to ask about my credentials shouted to his rag mate (who was from Staffordshire BTW) said "can you believe this...he used to follow united, now he follows City!"....the rag just shook his head to disapprove of someone being a glory hunter.....oh the irony. Only the other week I got short shrift off a Villa supporter for being a glory hunter...I didn't say anything to him because I can't be arsed to justify why I support City, but a mutual friend who I've known for years put him right on the subject and he completely changed attitude after that.
I really shouldn't have to justify why I support the Blues to strangers, I know what my City supporting credentials are and as the late great Bobby Ball would say...that'll do for me cocker!
Yep 100% pal, the thing is though I don't try and justify my support for city to rival fans, because I couldn't give a toss what they think. It's when it's fellow city fans doing it that boils my piss. Just last season actually I relocated to south stand for the Leipzig game, got chatting to a couple of blues and straight away one of them said "your not from here are you" I said no then he goes "how long you been supporting city then?" I just said longer than you've probably been alive mate, he was only 17 or 18 and that was that no argument or anything. But it is one of the few things that winds me up at the minute.

I was in Kilkeel today and spotted a family walking with their kids who were kitted out head to toe with new city gear. That’s the new supporters branch sorted. Probably thought I was nuts or a big weirdo beeping them on the way past lol.

It’s changing in Ireland. Fuck off Rag/dips!

Young lad age 7 or so next door to me is one mixed up kid seen him in Arsenal, liverpool, and rag shirts in same week, lol

Not in Leyburn North York’s where I have been holidaying. Full of rag shirts and one kid in a City top. Some Leeds. One pub in particular seemed to attract the scum.

Went to Cobh in February. Had a great afternoon in Mauretania bar. Some characters in there!!

On holiday at the mo in Mallorca and I've seen about a dozen people wearing City shirts, today we were sat next to a Spanish family and the 2 sons were wearing the new home strip with 9 Haaland on the back, cool!
Where are you mate?

It's a lot easier for today's kids to support City, regardless of whether they live close to Manchester
Anyone under the age of 21 will only know Premier League success, and none of them are scarred by the memories of Halifax, Alf Grey, Raddy Antic, and all the bollocks that followed.

19 Trophy hunters in Cork…..No Glasgow Celtic???
Fashion may come and go, boy but Cork paddles its own canoe.
To this day, it's something of a sartorial wonder for any Corkman to be found not wearing his county's GAA Jersey morning, day and night.
Truly this shirt is a garment for all occasions... weddings, court cases, funerals, first holy communions, other court cases, starting a fight on a bus, christenings, rock festivals, polar expeditions, coroner's hearings, dole applications,, anything to do with television - on either side of the screen! - sun holidays and gawdhelpis, even more court cases ... sure, the irony is you'd be reported down there for public indecency if you went half a week without wearing your Rebel Gah Top.
Not so much now, though. They've reined it in. It's almost (big almost, in fairness) as if they had actual manners put on them.
And I suppose we'll never know why it's changed...
