City football shirts everywhere

We live in Essex and today I took a half day and took the kids upto London for a day out.

I was surprised by the number of kids wearing the latest home shirt. Today I counted at least 7 kids wearing city shirts and only saw 2 arsenal shirts and 1 West Ham shirt!

My sons under 11 team has a squad of 13 and 4 of them including my son are city fans. Not unusual in Manchester but in Essex it is!

How times are changing as it was always Utd or Liverpool shirts if it wasn’t a London team.

Is anyone else noticing the large number of kids outside of Manchester wearing the famous blue

My missus has relatives in Norway, when we won the league the first time i couldn't believe that their kids over there had become City fans because of it. Then some more of her relatives came to England to visit earlier this summer, and they had also become City fans because of Haaland.

I was in Paris last week and there were a few City shirts dotted around there as well.

I remember going to Tunisia in 2014 and looking to buy a fake City shirt, but they had none anywhere of any quality. When i asked the guy, he just laughed and said City were a small club and would never be big enough to have shirts being sold there. It was hot and tiring in the sun and that got the better of me, so i told him he would be begging to order City shirts due to demand in future because we were gonna take over. Who's laughing now you stupid **** (assume he obviously reads this forum).

Still 80% (ish) 'red shirts' in North Lancs area I live in(mostly 30/40 something 'geezers 'who've never been anyway near 'their' respective grounds) Over the 20 odd years I've been here there have always been a few City shirts about, most City fans I know do and always have been to matches(even if only a couple of times a season). When my daughter was at school she said the same, she said the blues in her year were outnumbered but generally went to games with their parents.
Quite a few kids in City shirts now. Sometimes see a few Leeds, Everton and Newcastle(?) shirts around, plus the Real Madrid, PSG ones (probably because they look smart) very few of the Lancashire clubs though (Blackpool, Burnley,Preston etc.) only really Morecambe.

The thing that always gets me if I see City shirts outside of Manchester is that I assume there's a connection so lead with "where abouts in Manchester are you from"? Still can't fathom people supporting us just because we're decent. Glory hunting bastards.

This thread reminds me of camel mouth saying he didn't see a city top until Aguero's goal all those years back. Times have DEFINITELY changed since then. What a time to be a blue!

My wife thinks I am a sad old fkr. 60 years old and I still go into snide kit shops abroad and make sure City shirts are on top of dipper and rag shirts throughout the shop... Sad but true...

Yes,but you're not really doing a proper job unless you stick United/Dipper shirt down the back of your jeans first, and give your sweaty arse a quick wipe first.

The big change in my part of Lancashire (Wyre) has been the vanishing of Rags shirts. It seems to be mostly Liverpool with an increasing number of City shirts, especially the youngsters. There are also quite a few PNE and Blackpool shirts (both these clubs have loyal hard-core supports).
The signing of Haaland is a game-changer for City. He is the biggest box-office star we have ever signed and already has a huge personal fanbase across the world which will only get bigger. Grealish and Foden are also very commercially valuable to City and will be even more important if England do well at the World Cup.

I went on a trip to the rainforest in Borneo in 2012.
There was a camp we stayed at in the heart of the rainforest, only accessible via boat through alligator infested waters.
In the camp they had a little sand pitch which the local children were playing on.
To my surprise at least two of the kids with city tops on!
Couldn't believe it.

Just been to Newcastle, appalled by seeing several rags shirts couldn't believe it in a City with a huge Premier league team. Bet they get bullied at school.

Newcastle is rife with rags has been for years
