Of course it was a guess,it couldn't be a fact before the event. He says it’s an “educated guess” rather than a fact though. One is an opinion as part of the larger picture which turned out to be incorrect.
I think there is a difference but people seem to want an admission or apology and I don’t know why. Has Stephan said his opinions are always correct somewhere?
The opposite is the case. Not at all - you seem to think the two are mutually exclusive
The PL tree has received a serious pollarding and thats all City needed to do.. !If we chop off some branches and then the PL prune it, there isn't much left of the tree hence why it's a bigger win for us than the PL, no?

"Well he would, wouldn't he?", by 1979, this phrase had entered the third edition of the Oxford Dictionary of Quotations, and is occasionally referred to with the abbreviation MRDA ("Mandy Rice-Davies applies").
Well, the whole thing is ridiculous, so I thought I’d join in.Oh dear......
Hopefully it'll be a bonsai by the time we're finished. The PL tree has received a serious pollarding and thats all City needed to do.. !
I spoke to multiple sources on APT in addition to reading Panja’s tweet. Whilst it is important to weigh the personal feelings of the tweeters, it is worth considering what he writes about a topic like this because he undoubtedly has some good sources. As I said, in any event, the quote considers the situation “if” he is correct.
