City launch legal action against the Premier League | City win APT case (pg901)

This is where I do believe we don’t do ourselves any favours. Why at a time of the club being under such scrutiny for sponsorships, do we give the PL a chance to make these decisions? The people at the club aren’t stupid, they must know when they submit a deal to the PL for review, that they’re going to look at it unfavourably given half a chance. I don’t think it’s particularly wise on our part to push and push and push these AD deals to the absolute limit.

Agreed. Never been keen on it.

The incoming apt rule changes
Shade premature

The City email went on to criticise plans to reform the ATP rules. The league has not commented on the email but said in its response to the verdict that failings in the rules “can quickly and effectively be remedied by the League and clubs”. The league has called an emergency shareholders meeting for next week to discuss plans, though they will not immediately be put to a vote.
Cliff said an imminent change to the rules should be “of even greater concern” to clubs. “Given the findings in the award, this is the time for careful reflection and consideration by all clubs, and not for a kneejerk reaction,” he wrote. “Such an unwise course would be likely to lead to further legal proceedings with further legal costs. It is critical for member clubs to feel that they can have trust in their regulator.

City have lost nothing as they had nothing to lose. The rules were already in place. The worst position that City could have been in post any judgement was the status quo remained.
As we sit here now, City are in a better position than they were previously, where as the premier league are up shit creek. The premier league rules have also been labelled unlawful, unfair and unreasonable. City can now claim for damages.
The media can spin it however they like. The simple fact is that it City who will be going to bed with smiles on their faces tonight, while Richard Masters will be having nightmares.
This is indisputable. How anyone can think otherwise is beyond comprehension.

Just block his accounts.

He just wants attention so don't give it him.

You think we lost?

Don’t think anyone’s said that?

In terms of the tribunal, we won some things, we also lost some things we’d have wanted to win. The other clubs in the PL will be feeling worse than we are right now though and the PL themselves too.

How big a win or loss it is, think we need to wait and see, no one can really know yet. Wouldn’t be surprised if it went back to tribunal again depending on what happens next.

After taking the day to wait for people qualified to analyse this to analyse this, the idea that City won some major win and Stefan was downplaying it is clearly wrong.
Having read The Lawyer's take on it, I'm surprised he thinks it was even a "score draw" frankly.

Eh ? Please explain.....

It’s insinuated in that post I replied to.
Seems there is a collective effort from some to downplay what we have achieved with this case.
