City Matters thread

Not a single one of the 6 says anything about the 3 most important issues -

1. More season tickets
2. Cheaper Matchday tickets
3. Improvements to the atmosphere.

So I’ve replied saying in that basis I’m not voting and we will just get 3 more club line towers (City Matters Alex excepted).

I note the club vetted the candidates and seemingly ruled out anyone who might rock the boat. Who knows, one of them may even be a chelsea fan
Their remit is to represent a certain, specific portion of the fanbase, so obviously their campaign will focus on those issues, rather than general issues. Of course that doesn't mean that they won't input on the issues that you have mentioned (even though issue 1 seems to have been largely dealt with already).

Bollocks the main issues should be their main concern, but yes I agree that they also need to represent the specific area they are representing too. It’s a good job we have 1894 cos City Matters is a club nodding fig and the OSC is only bothered about tickets for their members

I reckon it'll be more secretive and stitched up than the vote for the new Pope.

My vote would go for the homeless bloke and his dog who sit at the end of Joe Mercer Way.

At least they are friendly, always there and seem to support City.

When the CMR have been picked, blue smoke will rise from the Etihad.

I just had a look through the bios and picked up on a comment from one of tbe black and mixed heritage candidates that she had been told black people should not support city. (Presumably by other black people)
I thought if anything it would be the opposite with Moss Side etc.
Interested whether anyone else has come across this.

I can’t be arsed going back to check. But when I read it, I think she was saying that those comments were from when she was still living in Africa, before she moved to Manchester.

One for next season.

How and in which order cup final tickets are sold by the club, unless the club have to follow FA ticket selling rules for the cup final?

Read the Seat Counters thread back for tickets selling for this cup final. It’s been a farce.

Actually Samuel, one of the under 25s, did mention ‘affordable tickets’ but I would love to know how many people put their names forward and how they were whittled down.
Still c’est la vie. We need to make sure we let them know we are keeping a check on what’s happening at their meetings. Plus that they have a hard ‘act’ to follow our @Alex - City Matters . I don’t think they’ll fill his shoes but hope they have 75% at least of his courage.

Alex has been a thorn in the directors side. The directors will be glad to see the back of Alex, so they can relax a bit more.

Unfortunately it looks like the future CMR will be more passive towards the directors. Especially the newbies, as they won’t want to rock the boat at the start of their CMR term.

Alex has been top draw. I think it’s a backhanded compliment that the best deal secured for fans in years was developed with Alex and most fans reps on strike. Part of the PR game I reckon.

Still loads to do and I hope we see real progress on match day ticket prices. Beating up the odd neutral has certainly stemmed the tide of tourists going in 93:20 but that make room for more away fans.

I put my name forward and was rejected by the club, I think they thought I might have been difficult and argumentative

After four and a half years, 2,750 emails, and many meetings and statements, tonight was my final meeting as a City Matters representative.

I’d like to thank you all for your support over the years, and I hope that I’ve been able to reflect your views and help over that time.

Thank you Alex.

You have been superb.

Without doubt the best City Matters Rep the fans have had representing us.

It's such as shame you have finally finished your term.

City Matters and the fans are worse of for that.

I bet the club are happy though. Take that as a complement.

When's the book out? ;-)
