City Matters thread

They have put 2 lot's of minutes up at last
Thanks for raising this.

A lack of minutes has been one of my big bug bears whilst on the group, and having raised it on a number of occasions, it was even more frustrating given that we had a member of the club’s business support staff present to take notes that never materialised. We have an agreement going forward that minutes should go live 7 days after each main meeting (and hopefully we can extend that to sub groups as well), but the proof is in the pudding.

As you can hopefully see from the back end of the May edition, the new Premier League Fan Engagement Charter is going to force the club to be a bit more proactive with the group. That includes things such as an annual strategic plan and progress report at the start and end of the season.

Not in anyway critical of anyone on the CM / past members of CM, but could not one of you produce minutes of the meeting yourselves?
I get sensitive stuff may have to be off the record, but you could send a copy to the club and say if we don't hear back in 72 hours (working days) we will assume it's ok to distribute it.

Hopefully this is a none starter now that the club have started to be a bit more proactive with minutes.

I would say that it shouldn’t ever be our job to produce minutes. As someone who works in Local Government, we would never ask Councillors, for example, to minute their scrutiny meetings. If a representative (either councillor or City Matters) ends up doing minutes, you’re either asking them not to fully take part in the meeting so that they can get the right detail, or the notes are rather high level. I take the point that any minutes, even if high level, are better than none!

We have produced our own minutes before, but I don’t think have ever been that bullish in terms of posting them. I’m not opposed to that, although there would probably be difference in what we think is confidential and the club consider.

It doesn't look good for new season tickets then. Also it wasn't made clear that if you downgraded to Silver you may never be able to change back.

Based on the possibility not everybody will have renewed, I reckon there's a handful available which the club could at the very least offer as silver STs but they would rather sell these seats as Matchday tickets/hospitality packages/ sell to tourist agencies to make a bigger mark up. Very frustrating

I actually emailed them last year about this and the reply was you be given the chance to go back to platinum when renewing
Luckily I stayed platinum last year as that advice was obviously incorrect

I'd be up for councillors and note-takers publishing both sets.
Same for City Matters Reps and the clubs. Transparancy may provoke clarity, or questions, but unless someone states something as being "off the record" or "not for general release" then there shouldn't be any harm done. That being said, City are a business and not a public sports club.

It does seem that City have City Matters, Indeemo doing market research and other wings doing X, Y and Z whilst not singing from the same hymnsheet. Hopefully City can be a little more open and responsive. In perspective Franny Lee, Swales and Frank weren't as on board with fans as say Wardle etc., and our current owners.
