City owner and council to build 6,000 new homes in £1bn deal

Re: City owner and council to build 6,000 new homes in £1bn

Just wait for the rags who move in to the sheikh's social housing and then sing songs about city playing at 'the council house'

Will the club get anything from this as 'football related income?'

Hopefully the beneficiaries of the construction phase of this large investment (eg the Design and Building Contractors) together with a grateful Council who apparently ran out of money before Eastlands could be regenerated will show their appreciation by sponsoring MCFC.

If you mean rent income then the initial spending phase would be a massive minus to FFP rules even if the Housing Project was not a separate cost centre (unlikely).

I'm sure that Sheik M. would want separation between the various Projects his ADUG Team come up with if only to approve the individual Business Plans each Project presents.

I dont know exactly, but there are quite a lot of houses in around the area with people in them, I just want them not to be pushed out ( like at anfield) keep the houses affordable as most of the people living in east manchester are working class people.
I don't think you can build any new development theses days without provision of affordable homes and/or social housing, I might be wrong, but I thought the figure was about 25% of the total.

I think this ruling has been abolished quite recently actually. May be wrong though.

Will all the rent be collected by players as a way to offset wages? If so, count me in, I'll happily with-hold some wages for players based on their future bad performances.

Call me an old cynic if you like, but most of Manchester is likely to be in the 'affordable' bracket. The area is hardly awash with millionaires and their mansions, and I would expect a high proportion of these new properties being aimed at the rental market, this being the only way for millions of people to keep a roof over their heads.

You can remove infrastructure costs from the FFP figures so it wouldn't affect them. Not sure if you could include the revenue once they were built though.

If you can then let's put an oil field through the books

Perfect place for me to move, how do i sign up?
Can easily foresee a lot of demand. People will be chomping at the bit to get these houses.
There may be a sort of cosmic conflation at play here: the construction of these houses with my glorious return to Manchester in three years time.

It's like it was written in the stars.
