Travelling up by car from Northampton (J15 of M1) with the lad for tomorrow's game. Haven't been for a looooong time and it's the lad's first home game - can anyone advise best route (presume M1, M6) and more importantly, quickest way to get out after the game?
We have a pass for car park H near the ground, but not sure whether certain roads get closed on match days.
Was thinking of leaving around 2pm in the hope of getting parked up around 5 ish, then get some grub, go in the shop etc in plenty of time.
Any advice much appreciated!! Thanks.
m1 jct 35 a ( just after meadowhall , sign posted manchester woodhead pass ) then follow the road , more or less takes you straight to the ground , first roundabout after m1 theres a premier inn with a " taybarns " , if you v never been to a taybarns its an all you can eat buffet for £6.50 and that includes unlimited soft drinks /coffee tea etc , oh and watch for the average speed cameras at the sheffield end its 50 mph for about the first 10 miles or so , as you enter manc follow signs for sportcity .

travelled it fairly regularly over the years from the derbyshire side of sheffield , get the right weather and its one of the most beautifull drives in the country get the wrong weather and it can be hell on earth , you should be alright this time of year though , enjoy your day and lets hope we get the result .

3 of us in Dudley and 1 in Stonnall go to every home game. Used to be in Midlands CSA years ago until it folded and formation of a new Midlands Supporters Club would be great especially for coach trips to away games.
