Not City related, but it may interest some of you?

Tottenham's proposed new stadium, Sainsburys Supermarket, and Apartments.

Tried to copy and paste it into BM, but it wasn't having it for some reason. Please click on the link, it's well worth it. <a class="postlink" href="http://www.glory-glory.co.uk/showthread.php?3795-Northumberland-Development-Project" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.glory-glory.co.uk/showthread ... nt-Project</a>
If it does get built that would be one of the finest grounds in the uk

Stadium looks fantastic but its murder getting in and out of WHL as it is; upping the capacity by 40% to 60k and the traffic round there will be gridlocked for hours and hours. God help anyone who goes to the Sainsbury's and parks there on match days.

Why is the record attandance at the new ground 47,726 for the UEFA Cup Final, nearly 300 more than for any City game?

Don't they leave the front couple of rows empty aswell?

I find it hard to believe they didn't have any segregation for a game like that.
This is b*llocks. The UEFA game was restricted to 44,000 by UEFA.
I would definitely say that attendance figure of 43,878 was about right.
The QPR game is the official record for the Etihad.

How much is this going to cost?

It was about £45m an end but that was from a few years ago when the plans were first developed.

Cheers doesn't seem that much for spurs to extend to 60k

They used to be a great club, with some of the best fans in England. Their current set of fans seem to think that that's in some way 'belittling' (feeding the 'plucky City' image, apparently) but honestly, if that City had been successful, it would have been impossible to begrudge them their success. Now their players have no obligation to anyone other than the Sheikh (because he pays them), the Sheikh doesn't have to answer to anyone because they're all in love with him, and the newly entitled, sneering fans that remain are there to serve as window dressing: make a bit of noise, and make it look like we're a 'club' and not a billionaire's plaything.

That kind of disconnected situation will not help with the atmosphere around the new Eastlands, development plans be damned.

Btw, this thread is apparently being closely monitored by the denizens of Bluemoon, who think we're bitter ****s. So, hello lads.

Hahaha, the Tottenham Thread on Bluemoon attracts the worst of City fans. I think I could safely guess that more than 50% of the posts on there are hateful posts aimed at your club, your fans, Ricky Villa and THFC6061. The moderators there stopped him posting links to his website, I'm amazed he still goes on Bluemoon.

As for the stadium situation, and in particular the atmosphere: at the moment, its shite. Before the Sheikh, it was shite. Before the move to Eastlands, it was great. A whole host of excuses have been thrown up as to why this is. Apparently the acoustics of the stadium are poor, the placement of the away fans splits up the singing sections, the lack of standing makes it difficult to 'get going', the fact there isn't a Kippax is still rather alien to a lot of us... the list goes on. I don't think we could fill 60k, even with cheaper tickets. We have an ageing fanbase and even though season tickets sell out ridiculously quickly, we are still a club which relies heavily on our core fanbase. Expanding the stadium will do nothing to help the atmosphere. You can cram as many people into a stadium as you want; but this doesn't guarantee noise. Point of reference: Old Trafford.
