Re: Ajax

Bob trying the reverse psychology thing again, it's on the back pages... "We're not good enough to win the Champions League". Cue the back to back wins. :)

Thatwould be a nightmare. Would mean losing players in January and a big setback for the club.

Not sure what you mean "losing players"in January?<br /><br />-- Mon Nov 05, 2012 9:06 am --<br /><br />I've also got a feeling we may come out and blow them off the park this week. 4-1.

Yes, it worked down the stretch last season. This team is playing with intensity again, we need the supporters to sing their hearts out. No moaning or groaning please.

A narrow victory against Ajax might simply put us into the dreadful Europa League so I am hoping for an entertaining, high scoring defeat. Similar to Sporting last season if my memory serves me right. Let us put Europe to bed so that the players and coaching staff can concentrate on what really matters.

You don't look to bow out when the chance of qualification is still there! Surely last season showed you that, never give up. Qualifying for the knockout stages is probably more likely on paper than winning the league was when we were 8pts behind.

Besides, I like the Europa League and people need to realise that a good Europa League run would be better for our European future than finishing 4th and bowing out, because to the coefficient points we'd earn. If Atletico had qualified for the Champions League, their Europa League win last season would have ensured them a Pot 1 place!

---------------Hart------------------
Zaba---Kompany---Nastasic---Kolarov
----------------Javi------------------
------------Yaya---Nasri-------------
-------Tevez---Dzeko---Aguero-------

Is Milner def out?

Id play this if he is available

----------Hart

Zabba, Kompany Lescott Clichy

---Milner----- Barry

---------Yaya

Aguero-- Balo -------Tevez

If not then Id even be tempted to put Kolo Toure at fullback and put zabba next to Barry....I just dont rate Garcia at all...esp as Ajax are very quick in the midfield

Milner, Lescott(not sure), Rodwell, Silva, Maicon and Richards out.

HART

Zabba.............Kompany................Nasty...............Clichy

Barry.............Garcia

Tevez..............Yaya............Nasri

Aguero

Bench: Panti, Kolarov, Sinclair, Dzeko, Balotelli, Evans and the 7th sub I´ve no clue.....
Kolo is not in the 25 CL squad so he and Razak can´t be picked.
This team would be the most likely to start, I personally would prefer Sinclair to Nasri bc of his speed and speed is something desperately lack at times.

I would like a comfortable victory with no injuries, would be nice to see Evans get a run out if we lead by a few goals.

I think this team will be used. Maybe abit too early for Javi to come straight in, probably lacking abit in match fitness. Clichy played 90 minutes on Saturday, so Kolarov in. Tevez will be replaced by Aguero i reckon, i feel Aguero needs game time and if he starts i reckon he'll score two. Balotelli looks certain to get the nod ahead of Dzeko, although i would prefer Edin to start, saying that though he's alright coming off the bench.
