I agree, would give alot of young players a chance as well.

If we'd had to play two Europa League semi finals last April, I very much doubt that we would now be champions.

Sounds like Milner's hamstring injury is slight as Mancini says he has a 10% chance to play. Also suggests Maicon is just short of fitness now. May not help for Ajax away, but good to know these players wont be out for long

Ajax news from uefa.com

Frank de Boer, coach
All the teams in this group want to be playing Champions League football after the winter break. But, of course, Manchester City want to get nine points from their remaining matches. We will try to get a result here. We are not going to throw it all open but it is not in our nature to play defensively. We want to show how we play at Ajax, whether we are at home or away.

City have a lot of quality. They have four terrific defenders and two defensive midfielders in front of these defenders. And the strikers have a lot of quality, although they will definitely miss David Silva. But they will still have some big names on the pitch.

I said before the game against Manchester City in Amsterdam that if we play our own game we can make it very difficult for anybody. We really have to believe. I want to see players that play bravely. Maybe it makes you a quality player if you play your best games under the highest pressure, and hopefully a lot of players will do that tomorrow.

Weekend result
Saturday: Ajax 0-2 Vitesse (Bony 38 46)
Vermeer; Van Rhijn, Alderweireld, Denswil, Blind; De Jong, Poulsen (Fischer 57), Schøne; Sana (Boerrigter 65), Eriksen, Babel.

• Vitesse condemned Ajax to their first defeat in 25 Eredivisie matches. They had won 18 games and drawn six since a 2-0 home loss to FC Utrecht on 5 February.

Team news
Niklas Moisander, suspended against Vitesse, was replaced by league debutant Stefano Denswil. Nicolai Boilesen (hamstring), Kolbeinn Sigthórsson (shoulder), Thulani Serero (groin), Davy Klaassen (groin) and Jody Lukoki (knee) are all sidelined.

Twente has a 10 points lead on Ajax and Twente's manager is Steve McCLaren.

If we cant beat Ajax tomorrow I wonder what would McClaren's team do to us.

We better win it.

should we use this game to get a song about Guidetti going?

just signed a new deal, hes nearing full fitness, is being interviewed in city square tomorrow night before the game and i featuring in the next episode in the '#ASK' series.

he hates ajax and is a legend of their rivals, couldn't get a better time to give him a song

Hopefully there'll be some pent up frustration to be turned on Ajax and a 3 nil win, forza mancini!

Since his nickname is Super John Guidetti, a good simple one would be Super Super John, Super John Guidetti (to the same tune as "Who put the ball in United's net..."). Good idea though, hopefully we'll have plenty of chances to sing it in future.

Press sticking the knife in

"Divided City just a bunch of egos"

"Mancini all the rage as strain takes its toll"

"Not good enough" Etc Etc

Good motivation to prove these idiots wrong again

Wow Liverpool reject, Ajax star, Ryan Babel just cant shut up:

"We noticed how the frustration got the better of them during the game. And we saw how the players were directing those frustrations towards each other. That is the danger of a club with so many big-name players and so many big egos.

When the going gets tough, they are not prepared to do the hard work for each other."

It would be even more awful now to let them leave Etihad with a point especially with 3 points.

Eriksen is so happy to tell every newspaper how happy he is with the decision he made when he snubbed a potential move to City.
Now this Babel guy.

I hope tomorrow wont be any tactical joking by Mancini and he will simply get it done just like the players.

Barry today was asked about our players with big egos and arguing in the dressing room and how you need to be more of a team! Barry should of told em that that team won the premier and Fa cup how can a team who argue and full of egos win the premier?

wow now i would really like us to twat them good, these twats need to be cut down to size

Don't understand why people want to move Nasri back to the wing where he is completely misused. He played in the center last game and fixed all the problems we had there.

And no I'm not talking about creating chances, because he wasn't the CAM. He was just a regular CM. As in picking the ball up from the back, and quickly transitioning it up to the attackers. He's great for this cuz he can hold the ball up against anyone so doesn't lose possession in bad places, he has great passing accuracy and range, and he can dribble by a few when needed. He allowed us to dominate the middle last game and no reason to move him.

When Silva gets back he will be free to roam around behind the attackers, and will have Nasri to actually get the ball up to him.

If Lescott and Milner are out, I'd go with this:

_______________Hart_______________
_________Kompany__Nastasić________
Zabaleta____________________Kolarov
______________García______________
__________Yaya______Barry_________
_______________Nasri______________
_________________________________
___________Agüero__Tévez_________

Bench:

Pantilimon,
Rekik, Clichy,
Razak, Sinclair,
Džeko, Balotelli.

I hope so!!!

We are slowly coming back to our form of last season!

Nasri is amazing in the central midfield role, Silva back early would be nice but the guys will have to play their best for pride's sake if we no longer have a chance.

Tevez should start IMO, Dzeko bench! ( I get the feeling Mancini only kept on Dzeko for the whole 90 min to drop him Tuesday and make him feel like he not the super sub. More to do with sentiment rather than logic as there was no real play from the wing to utilise his airial threat and no Kolarov introduction and the sinclair on so late was baffling a bit...)

Kompany and nastastic in defence.

Upwards and onwards ^_^

One more thing I was impressd with the perfomance yesterday, fighing for every ball and the fluidty of our game is back.

I have not seen him have 1 amazing game for city yet..Please advise me where he has been amazing in midfield.

Chelsea at home last season....motm by some distance, and southampton this season. Too few and fat between though.

I prefer Nasri in midfield...

Far too attacking mate, did you not see the game in Amsterdam? These lot if given the space will pass us off the park! We need to pack the midfield.
