for all those over-reacting to this afternoon's result, i have some grave news for you: we're going to lose some more games throughout the coming season. even, as today, when we are clearly the better side, there is a chance we could lose.
but i have some good news also: all the other teams are going to lose matches too!
get a grip!

Only thing I can say about Arsenal is that I don't see them playing any better than that unless they get Suarez.

That performance from them today looked to me like a peak performance, us on the other hand looked a million miles away from where our capabilites could potentially take us.

Today's game reminds me of the Community Shield in the title winning season, we had what looked to be a very good pre-season yet despite scoring two goals in the United game, we got beat in a game we did struggle with and it all brought us back down to earth.

We then went on to play some of the best football the PL has ever seen in the following months.

Having had the best defnce in the prem last season there is some work to be done.
Barry may be the slowest on the pitch now but FFS his brain is one of the fastest.
City would do well to keep him for many prem. Matches
Left side of defence is a worry .For me Lescott is not working well and Boyata would be better until Nasty is back.
Get Willian too we will need another tricky player cos a lot of prem teams will park the bus against us and it'll be hard to open teams up despite Navas ' s speed down the line.
AGuero is crucial for a good start too

And what did that win us again?
Champions League qualification.

The Tarquins parking the bus against ickle old City ......who would have thought eh

Hardly parked the bus. We had possesion in the final third but didn't created anything of note.

Tbf got a bad feeling with the first 11, Dzeko and Negredo together ! :) overall was quiet ok but some silly personal mistakes and too much touches near the opposition 18 but anyway as mancini said :) zi iz football :) i think a CB is needed

Silva was good you feel he tried and above technicly

Toure lazy as shit :)

fernandinho need to spend more time focusing about tactics rather than tweeting evry half hour :)

Negredo Dzeko twin first touch problem ( so how it is going to against packed defences who will be close to him )

Clichy i think the club should consider a first choice next year ( mean by kolarov and clichy become 2nd choice)

but i think now it is becoming clear who should start against newcastle hope he go with a 4 2 3 1 Dzeko; navas, silva, nasri (or jove) behind

This is a pre-season friendly, players are probably tired, players are missing, and both the players and the system was changed throughout the game. Pick your favourite excuse.

But if we're to play a high line with the players we have it's clear we're going to have problems - every team will park the bus and play counter. So the defensive approach needs to be adjusted and the alarm bells are ringing about CB cover at this point (surely now we'll see an addition).

And without Yaya and Sliva in the second half it seemed like we had nobody in central midfield - everything was pushed out wide, there was no pace (is Mancini still here?), and we had no way to break through the bodies behind the ball.

No need to panic since the first 11 are going to be solid. But if we lose parts of the spine again for long periods of time - Vinny, Yaya, Silva, Aguero, it looks like we're going to struggle when teams park the bus.
