A game we completely controlled for 90 minutes and lost 3-1 , give arsenal some credit 3 breakwaways 3 shots and 3 goals . We created half a dozen decent chances and took one. Dzeko, negredo,Silva all guilty of missing reasonable openings , on the bright side wenger and the arsenal supporters are deluded enough to think they will challenge for the title playing like they did today .(did they actually win a corner?), therefore they wont sign any more players , so will again be 25 points away from the premiership.
Plus points were negredo's goal , silva looking back on form , and generally an ok performance , we just need to take our chances , and turn our possession into goals , Pellegrini got a bit to do this week we will need to be sharper against the geordies.

Don't worry it is only pre-season. I have no problems losing such games as long as we are fully prepped for the start of the real season. I was a little bit disappointed with Nasri and a couple of the fringe players (Garcia,Lescott,Richards etc.) who should be busting a gut to secure their berth. Positives -no injuries and Fernandinio looks as though he will drive us forward more than other midfielders. I too remember the pre-season we beat Milan and Utd (David Oldfield scored I recall) easily yet got relegated so don't get drawn into the media hype.

Having had the best defnce in the prem last season there is some work to be done.
Barry may be the slowest on the pitch now but FFS his brain is one of the fastest.
City would do well to keep him for many prem. Matches
Left side of defence is a worry .For me Lescott is not working well and Boyata would be better until Nasty is back.
Get Willian too we will need another tricky player cos a lot of prem teams will park the bus against us and it'll be hard to open teams up despite Navas ' s speed down the line.
AGuero is crucial for a good start too

And what did that win us again?
Second in the league actually but then again you may be spoilt.

The midfield is pretty decent in my opinion, but the chance creation for the quality we have at our disposal was absolutely shocking today.

We really need to start creating more chances, being more incisive and just simply taking more shots at goal.

Defence needs massive work as well.
In other words nothing much has changed. You can also add some real competition for hart who seems to think he's untouchable.
Because he is.....since he's one of the best in the world, and certainly in the league

Joe Hart is a decent GK but is not one the best in the world.

Won second?
christ.

Friendly or not, the shipping of 8 goals in our last 3 games is a concern. This style
of defending just won't work in the PL especially with players like lescott in it.

He is clearly as he was last season, no longer good enough. We need to buy a CB and if we dont it will almost certainly cost us.

Yaya and the rest of the midfield need to be working harder to help the defence.

The forwards need to stop missing chances. Negredo and Dzeko can't both play and I certainly don't want to be relying on Dzeko for our success.

We have 8 days to get it right but as this was our last friendly, I expected a bit more than we got.

Getting beat isn't a major issue but shipping goals for fun is.
