Really surprised we didn't switch to 5 at the back at around the 75 minute mark, Arsenal were bossing it and we couldn't get out of our own half, I was shouting out for Kolarov to come on for Silva. Also once Dzeko came off we just couldn't hold the ball up. Fulham up next in the league a very difficult place to go and if we don't win then you would think Mancini will be under pressure.

What the majority of you are missing here is that Arsenal are much better than last season and will be there or thereabouts.

We only just beat them last season at home in the prem and were beaten at their gaff.

We were never going to roll them over, as we weren't going to roll Madrid over just like that.

A point against Arsenal in their current form is fine in my opinion.

Stop shitting yourselves you bunch of fannies.

Is true

The only real concern today was conceding late. Arsenal's defence is much improved this year not surprised we only managed 1 goal.

-- Sun Sep 23, 2012 8:49 pm --

On my holiday so missed todays game. Sounds like we deserved the point and could have won, not terrible against a much improved Arsenal side.

I don't think we even deserved a point with that performance. Had Gervinho not been Gervinho, we would've lost.

But if we'd played to our normal standard or higher, we would've won.

Mancini needs to quit experimenting with these lineup/formation changes and stick to what won us the title last year

Especially at home, it's bizarre that he wants to change anything at home where we were almost flawless. Away from home I can fully understand the experiments and all that as our away form suffered and already this season we're played 2, drawn 2 (albeit against tough sides, the Fulham game next weekend will be a good chance to better dropped points from last season). I'm not sure what the exact formation was but the system we used against Spurs in the 5-1 was one of the most beautiful and fluid I've ever seen. I wish we could play like that again...

The team for the Spurs game that day was the following:

25 Hart
04 Kompany
05 Zabaleta Booked (Richards - 64' )
06 Lescott
22 Clichy
18 Barry
19 Nasri
21 Silva
42 Y Toure
10 Dzeko
16 Aguero (Savic - 75' Booked )

Its interesting to read the BBC report on the game. Some quotes:

'In the early exchanges there were chances at both ends, David Silva testing Brad Friedel with a stinging drive and then drifting effortlessly across the defence and forcing the veteran goalkeeper into another save'.

'Nasri, Aguero and Silva provided some mesmerising moments going forward and soon ensured they were rewarded for their invention'.

'After some delightfully intricate passing at pace, Nasri sent over a perfect left-wing cross for Dzeko who poked in on the volley from six yards'.

'City extended their lead when Nasri drifted clear on the left again and crossed for Dzeko, who flicked a back header beyond Friedel'

In that game we had our 2 playmakers at the peak of their powers and Gareth Barry was there to work in tandem with them.

To me it shows how important Nasri and Silva are to the team. We have to get David back to form. Come on everyone behind the scenes. Remind him what a great player he is. Show him the love! His confidence is down. When his magic returns the team form I believe will return.

we should ve won the game based on our second half performance . arsenal were poor in the second half..lapse of concentration cost us..they did nothing in the second half..a match fit aguero n tevez starting would ve made the difference i think
