City v Boro post match

It doesnt matter so much if our defence has the occassional blip as long as we are banging them in at the other end. The problem we have is that we are not putting the game to bed and therefore the risk of the blip at the end will always cost us. When we last won the title a defensive error made no difference when we were banging 3 , 4 and 5 goals in. I think Silva is brilliant but how many goals does he get us ? compare him to Hazard - which player do you think would be better in our team ?

despite his age obviously creeping up on him I wouldn't swap silva for any other player. the man is a genius.

Against teams that are likely to bunker in, we need players that can break down opponents one on one.

At Barca - Pep had Messi.

At Bayern - Pep had Ribbery and Robben.

At City - Aguero is semi-OK at this, but needs help. Beyond that - we have Sterling and Sane (neither of whom started). And Sterling/Sane are not nearly as proficient at one-on-one play as Ribbery/Robben/Messi.

So we need to improve in this area going forward.

Too bad that Nasri is so lazy - he was really good at one-on-one play.

Yes agre about Nasri I think we miss him - creative/ scores goals etc....poor decision to let him go. As for layers that can break teams down I really feel Hazard gets it over Silva PLUS he also gets goals from midfield.

Not arguing he is brilliant but as a midfielder we need to be getting goals from him. Ya Ya got 20 when we won the title !! A goalscoring midfielder can make a massive difference by the end of the season.

Dave has never been a goalscorer,he offers many other things that why he is one of the best players to ever wear our shirt

I thought Nasri chose to leave despite Pep wanting him to stay ?

Hazard went missing all last season as I recall.
 
We were robbed - can't help feeling teams that come and perform, like Boro' did, are cheating football - imo.
 
An inspired keeper and Aguero, KDB and Gundogan missing sitters is the reason we didn't win.
The thing is it's going to keep happening because we don't mix it up enough. Three key things yesterday that constantly led to frustration:
1. No where near enough shoots from outside the box.
2. Wingers never try and beat a man on the flank and put a cross in (then again there's no one in the box to attack a cross).
3. Not enough direct running/passing round the opposition though the middle.

The ball constantly moves in a semi circle from left flank to right flank across the front of their defence. Good defending means there is a high probability that anything will come from it.

One season when everyone was scoring shit loads of goals doesn't make him a regular goalscorer,with spain he seems to have the responsibility to score.I can't be doing with all the stick he has been getting for something he has never been great at,he creates chances a links everyone together,not so long ago we missed him like hell when he was out and couldn't wait for him to get back,he is adjusting like everyone else plus he is older,the others who are the scorers and aren't doing it come before him getting in the neck
