City v Boro post match

If you can't see how things are and are going to be a lot better then you must just be a really negative person
You can put like for like stats up to make anything look a certain way

Had we beaten United away last season ?
Had we beaten Barcelona last season ?
Has Sterling been improved by Pellergrini this much ?

We missed 2 penalties v Everton and played very well, we win that game 99 times from 100
If one of the best strikers in the world scores the sitter he missed yesterday for 2-0 it's 3 points

Not even saying we will win the league, although I feel if we are within reach by 6 points on April 8th it's ours, but are City any better off than last season ? I'd say yes
Sterling has been the big plus ,under pep hand on heart who else can you say that about ?
Kolorov for 2 games and kun for 2 games who else ?

Proof again that age doesn't necessarily provide wisdom or knowledge.

Revert to type.. getting kicked to shit for your pleasure yet again. Should've been subbed due to fatigue around 70 mins. Mind you the whole team bar maybe Navas & Stones were as worthy to be subbed due to their individual performances yesterday.

Mental toughness? You have no idea how tough the little fucker is..
And you're proof that having a player as a mate doesn't provide objectivity.

I'm not saying he isn't a good player or even that he doesn't battle. He has great talent but like a few other players, he doesn't seem to have that little extra mental strength that would make him the equal of players like Messi. Yesterday Aguero scored his 150th goal for us and needs 3 more to catch Colin Bell. Bell, like Silva, was a midfielder who Silva often gets compared to. But every full season he played for us, Bell got goals in double figures. Silva's only done it once.

I agree he should have been subbed and said so at the game. Nolito should have been on for him, or maybe Kompany with Kolarov moved up into midfield. But getting kicked, as he does, as Aguero does, as Sterling does, has no relation to mental toughness. I don't think those other two have enough of it either by the way. With Silva and Sterling it shows through their reluctance to shoot even when in good positions. To me, that indicates they're more worried about missing than scoring and that's the sort of attitude I'm taking about.

Agree with all of that mate, especially the highlighted part, very frustrating.

Thought a fair few players looked absolutely knackered in the second half but didn't look like any lack of effort to me as lots of supporters around me were claiming. Personally I would have liked to see three subs around the hour mark just to get some "legs" on the pitch because you could just tell that they had much more energy than us.

3 points in 3 home games is a worry but we have to look at the bigger picture and say that the performances in all 3 games (Southampton albeit quite as good) were very encouraging and we played some great stuff.

The quality of football has definitely improved under Pep and it takes time. If we were scraping draws, I'd be much more concerned.

It will all fall into place.

I'd say Kolarov. He had a decent game again yesterday. Certainly looks more comfortable on the ball than Stones. All our defenders have been guilty this season of making mistakes, but I suppose we'll get that until they're comfortable playing out the way they're being asked to. However, it would help if we had a settled back four.

That surprises me to be honest, although I notice we are joint 3rd with two other teams and we have conceded 2x as many as Spurs.

Anyway it matters not. The point is we are not going to win the league if we can't keep a clean sheet more than once in a blue moon. Our defending is simply not good enough. Yes we can moan about not taking our chances but sometimes against a well organised defence this will happen.
agree with this.

so why leave both otta and vinny out of the side? its fucking madness.

I hope the gaps not too big by the time it does. Pressure is on at 'small pitch' Burnley now.
