City v Bristol City 1st leg post match

Some right pathetic statements coming out on here tonight.

Bravo copping some flack from people who have not forgiven him for some poor performances last season. Arguably he got us to the semi-final and it probably would have been 1-1 without that superb pass to KDB which practically set up the goal. Wish people would comment on the performance in the actual match in a match thread.

We won and that is one of few positives. Missed Ferny more than any other player who didn't play tonight, Yaya shouldn't play again for the club which I am sad about saying. No room for sentiment any longer. Bravo still gives me the jitters and Mangala should finally accept he is on borrowed time if he doesn't realise already. Credit to Bristol for not parking a bus but their chances came in the main from us messing about on the ball. Taylor was as usual appalling although the way he stuck to his task of marking our runners was a joy to behold. I think we will put out a stronger side in the second leg and get through to the final.

sly fouling ****s in the first half which taylor let off.
Saying that they gave us a good game and we fluffed our chances at times
Yaya and Mangala cannot be played together, one now too slow the other is an accident waiting to happen.

in the end we should have scored more but Bristol defended well a d ayed some good football.

Would have liked a bigger lead but we won, that's what counts

Where do you start ? First of all congrats to Bristol they played out of their skins , and better than any premier league team that has come to the Etihad (including the unlucky Dippers lol)and they met us on an off night , we created so many opportunities , scoring situations and wasted them , Sane was diabolical tonight with his final pass and shooting , Gundagon must have had ten shots and troubled the supporters in row Z more than their goalkeeper , Bernardo apart from his cross for Kun has no end product.
Mangala and Yaya have had their chances , and neither will be at the club next season , hard to think of any positives apart from the result , this squad does show superb team spirit and always will fight until the end , and that goes a long way. We always find a way to win not matter what the opposition , Bristol cannot play any better than tonight , where as we were poor overall , and probably couldnt play any worse , at least the 2nd leg will be a challenge and not the formality Sky were dreading.

There was one big positive. Kevin De Bruyne.

We will get through 2nd leg. They had their game today. United had shit loads of chances there and we will too.

Need to play a better side than that to be sure though which illustrates the need for reinforcements.

The biggest loss to our team's cohesion is not playing Ederson. Bravo is a complete dithering fool who creates needless pressure and encourages the opposition to press high.

Relieved to win but we've needlessly made the 2nd Leg a task rather than a day out.

I reckon we should toughen Mangala, against Mane and Salah ;-)
