City v Chelsea Post Match Discussion

wish he'd have used similar formation to start champs league matches, control the midfield then open the game up later on with 2 up top if you need to

Totally this. We were far too light in midfield in both our chumps league campaigns.

I asked this once before on another thread, but is there no chance we can re-sign Kolo on one of those "old man" year-to-year contracts on a more realistic salary? I'm sure it would make Yaya happy, and he's been an excellent back-up for Kompany. I think he's a bit suspect against teams with a major aerial threat, but against teams that like to play football, he's still (mostly) excellent.

On a separate note, it's funny to see how many more pages this thread has when we lose (personally I barely turn on the computer or sports news on TV for several days after a bad defeat).

For the first time this season we began to see the real Rodwell....and hopefully getting near to full fitness. Also the positional play of Garcia was great...he seemed to always appear when danger threatened.

It's an interesting one Kolo's contract ... but he's not the only one. This summer Lescott, Barry, Milner, and Yaya also go into the last 12 months of their deals IIRC. We'll have to make a call on all of them because otherwise I can see all of them having other offers.

not if he'll go to Turkey and the land of 15% tax to play more AND make more.

Think Garcia's mopping up is becoming so integral to our play. Quietly snuffs out a lot of opposition attacks. Great game from Rodwell and Kolo. Yaya further up the pitch is the way to go.

Surprised how little chelsea offered - Drogba has left a huge hole in the team.
