City v Chelsea Post Match Thread

I love pellers butvhe got it all wrong tonight. same mistake as bayern, completley overrun in midfield. No need for dzeko and negrado, especially against that chelsea side. cant blame demichelis, he was outnumbered all game. chelsea completley deserved all three points.
 
After a bit of reflection, Moaninho totally outwitted Pellegrini and the best team won. Can't complain about the result. He came to keep the ball in the air, play on the counter, and hassle every City player. CIty were not any where near to the level of playing that they should have been. We were ineffective on the wings, which was crucial given the fact that going through the centre was an unlikely strategy because it was full of Chelsea midfielders. Dzeko, once again, faffed around and wasted so many opportunities, both for himself, and others.
 
This match just showed the importance of Fernandinho.

Defensively, we just weren't tight enough. Fernandinho would've been on them like a rash. He's great at breaking up play and has a tremendous workrate. With a CM pairing of MD and YT, we just weren't tight enough. MD usually gets caught up the field and cannot get back while we all know that Yaya is best offensively.

In big games, Fernandinho, IMO, is our most important player and in games like these, without him, top sides can exploit us.
 
Well played Chelsea, tactically spot on, lighting on the break, by far the better team.

MDM had no business being on after half time and Dzeko unbelievably wasteful. The 2 positives are that the title race is still wide open, and Jovetic looks like one hell of a player.

Seems like pellers only has one tactic, if that isn't working then we are screwed. Luckily it's worked more often than not though!
I still fancy us for the league, but it's games like that we need to be winning. The 4-0's count for nothing when we can't win games like this.

No need to panic though, we had to get beat at some point!
