City v Chelsea post match

With Aguero probably out for 4 matches. Iheanacho has to absolutely seize the opportunity could be a turning point on his city career.

FA pays the refs big money to make games interesting - no red for Luiz in first half of game and yellow for Otamendi , yes refs play the 12th man to make it look good on TV. Taylor cannot be so bad, can he?

Aguero had to put up with Sideshow Twat's cynicism and sly fouls all day. No protection or justice. No wonder he kicked out in the final stages. Sheer frustration, but all part of the Chelsea plan.

Otamendi needs to go, he's had a year to settle but is proving he's not up to it.

Apart from the defence our other problem is there just aren't enough goalscorers in the team. Silva, KDB, Sterling, Nolito, Navas, Fernandinho, Sane should all be getting shed loads of goals in this team but they don't, add to that the fact that our defenders never score and basically if Aguero has an off day we're fucked. Kelechi should be getting more game time (which obviously he will now...).

Huge chances come the end of the season, pep now knows the majority in our squad ain't the level he requires so he'll get rid of most of them I'm sure.

I agree to an extent, but this is a results business. It's no good playing like Barcelona and keep dropping points. So you have to start rethinking what "better football" means?

This result was virtually inevitable imho. Our approach is one of trying to keep possession, even when it allows our opponents to get back and get organised defensively. Whereas by contrast they hit us on the break whilst we are disorganised. We've seen it time and time and time again and It simply is NOT working.

Yes we had chances (due to their cock ups mainly) and the result could have been different. But it was not, it was entirely as predicted.

Today is the first time I have had any doubt creep in that perhaps, just perhaps, this Guardiola appointment may not work. The league winners are nearly always the team that has the best defence, and at the moment we are miles off.

In my opinion we're creating the chances and the finishing is something that will come. We need a new CB soon because right now there's not enough depth (first time I've said that this season but I can't defend Otamendi much longer).

Otamendi plays like a striker in defence. I can't believe he's made it this far as a professional he clearly has no defensive iq what so ever. Beggars belief we actually all thought we had bought la ligas best defender.

Oh ok then come back to me in four games time when we're 6/7/8 point behind after their bans. Perhaps I could have put 'might of' but do you seriously see us winning a title when we havent won at home for 4 games and 2 of our best players have fucked things right up at the end and got themselves a xmas off????
Yes I do think we have a chance of winning the prem still

3 points out of the last 4 home games. Best paid manager in the league who spent over 100m pre-season, significantly more than Klopp or Conte.

Not all his fault but he should shoulder alot of the blame.

1. He seems to be shouldering most of the blame from people who have a history of not liking his appointment/decisions (like yourself) and others who don't watch the games.

2. We should have won this game, argue all you like, we were the better team.

3. Our away form is solid and we've already won as many away games as we did in all of last season.

4. You can't blame Pep for KDB or Aguero missing sitters, that's on them and them alone.

5. Worst refereeing display I've seen in 30 years.

Taylor is a cheat.

Same story as recent weeks, we don't put the game to bed and the opposition score from every fucking shot they have. Though Sane looked good so I suppose thats a positive!

Honestly I don't think Kun's tackle is as bad as people are making it out to be. (some saying he went in with 2 feet) To me it looks like He is trying to out run/ gain control from the player beside him. Then Luiz comes across out of no where. Kun is in full stride at this point and it looks to me like he is trying to kick the ball forward, but instead hits luiz.

I love the blue tintedness of this post but it was an absolutely shocking challenge.

We should have been 3-0 up.
Own goal.
Dino went too soon so was offside.
KDB hit the bar from 3m.

So Pep is doing some things right.

Our defence was better than theirs.

Their gk was better than ours.

The ref bottled it with Luis on Aguero.

I'm not going to blame it all on the referee, but I can't count with my fingers the number of poor decisions he made against us and I don't remember more than one that went against Chelsea. I struggle to accept that he was being neutral.

Why not just score one of the tap ins and have the last laugh?

Thought we were a bit unlucky but poor game management for me. Where was sterling? Bravo not great. Stones and otamendi poor. We don't have enough gold in the team and catching 4 points on a Chelsea team in Europe looks unlikely. Lots of work to do.

Not enough clean sheets to date especially when we miss chances that we should put away.

Losing two players for 3 and 4 weeks and key ones at that respectively and its not one our better days.

The next few games will show us if we have any fight to make a fist of the title challenge this season.

4 home games with three points is a piss poor return.

Sorry but that is a terrible challenge and deservedly red. Bad day at the office again.
