City v Everton post match

only one reason we didnt win today, we couldnt score a penalty. everything else was ok

Came home feeling let down! Possession without an end product means nothing. Had chances but not clinical enough. Too many times we looked like Arsenal searching for the further clever pass rather than taking a chance and shooting.Thought Sterling was much better second half and Nolito was a welcome returnee.
Not sure why Kompany was given pointless few minutes run out when we needed to go for the win.
Corners and penalties need a rethink.
Definitely a work in progress but media will be all over us when we extend winless run to 4 after at best a draw against Barcelona.
Hopefully it was just post internationals tiredness but we will need to defend much better against Barca

Doom and gloom with a pinch of predicting the future as well lol.

If the penalties had been scored and a 3:1 victory secured then people would have been raving over the quality of our football. I've never seen us totally dominate an Everton team like that. We must get our shooting boots on next time!!!!!!!!!.

Exactly.

Hence why it's sort of pointless being in this thread, may as well stick to player threads - the only reason to read this one is to shake head at the nuggets and rags.

I have been to many games over the years where we've lost or drawn and felt reallt down. But not today, I felt we controlled the game and they defended well. I think 72% possession, 18 shots at goal( 7 or 8 on target ). On any other day that game finishes 5 or 6-1 and everyone is happy . More positives than negatives for me

One thing I think is fair to criticise today other than the penalties, were the corners. I feel this is an area we need more variety in, constant out-swinging corners to no one in particular just aren't providing us with anything - and if anything provide counter attacking opportunities as the ball naturally swings out of their box.

We had 13 corners today & not once did we get even close to creating a chance from them, add some in-swingers and come more creative ones, we don't have a large team so whipping out-swingers in to a fairly sizable team like Everton just plays into their hands.
I'll 100% agree with that mate, corners were fucking hopeless today.

Played some absolutely fantastic football at times today. Maybe just lacking the killer touch in front of goal and came across a keeper who played the game of his life

If we'd have got an early goal we'd have ended up winning by 6, just one of them days. Dissapointed not to get the 3 points but can't be upset about the performance

I thought Koeman was supposed to be an innovator like Pep and a manager who sends his teams out to play football and entertain. Absolute bollocks. Timewasting, cynical fouls, 10 men behind the ball... dreadful to watch ... and some people say he'll end up at Barca !!
