I thought it was a typical home crowd pleasing refereeing performance. So many bookings and fouls that wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for the moaning scouse bastards. We had to score their goal for them and nearly nicked it with 10 men. Happy with a point and we're still 5 ahead :)

To use your infallible logic: How did the go-for-the-win mentality work in Munich and Naples?

A CL final is classified as a neutral, but nice try.

Fortune favors the tactically sound, not the brave.

I've gone through this before but I'll try again. It's now 3 points for a win and 1 for a draw, a sending off for a professional file and tackles with feet raised. Most of the money in football now comes from TV. TV viewers want entertainment. The rules and refereeing will continue to favour the entertaining ( attacking ) teams because that's where the money is. It's p*ssing against the wind to go anywhere and play for a draw. Mancini, Ferguson, Wenger and Guardiola have spotted this and acted on it. Even Mourinho has changed tact this year and started to attack. The happy with a draw mentality is for losers and ultimately losing is what you will get.

If I was you I would definitely go for a career as a politician. You truly master the art of not answering the question.

Or not...

Let me give you another shot, this time I will make the question a wee more obvious:

To use your infallible logic: How did the go-for-the-win mentality work in Munich and Naples?

Ok. we lost in Munich, we lost in Naples BUT if we had gone to defend there is no guarantee that we would have got your yearned for point anyway is there? That's just conjecture. Aftertiming. Believe it or not, I actually think the tactics in Munich and Naples were wrong but that is probably down to my pessimistic nature. The overwhelming evidence is that the successful sides are the attacking sides. Over one or two games ( arsenal 2- 8, United 1-6, Spurs 1-5 ) those tactics can be ridiculed but long term they are the only tactics. Even the Italian teams don't play Italian anymore!

Liverpool can't play any better than that. We can... Balo unlucky with the sending off, good to see Mancini defending him. Hart played a blinder, he's great in those situations (spurs last season). Take the point and run.

Still unbeaten and five points ahead of anyone else... I'll take that.

And we still haven't seen anywhere near the best from Aguero and Nasri.

Onwards and upwards.

Maybe I am just a fan boy...But Adam Johnson's ability to put the ball on a frozen rope is missed... a long range threat is the only way to open the defense up and allow Ballo, Dzeko and Kun to shine. I would love to see him get some real minutes as soon as possible.

This

he is a real attacking option and , much as I love Bobby Manc, games like thiswer crying out for more width.
