City v Napoli Post Match Discussion Thread

Big mistake from Mancini to start with the two slowest fullbacks at the club. Clearly didn't do his homework on Napoli. They're a lot better than what people on this board take them for.

Our midfield was poor, worst display by them for some time.

Are we allowed to say that?

Nope, get ready to be burned at the stake.

:- )

The way naps set themselves up crowded the midfield and their defence a great learning curve and a decent result

Don't take away from Napoli, they were excellent on the break. 1 criticism I have tonight is we didn't get it wide enough to exploit their 3 at the back. We were too narrow at times and it was our downfall too often

To my naked eye it seemed Silva played wider than usual, not as central as he usually does. Couldn't grab hold of the game as much, though I'm sure that has more to do with Napoli playing 3 CBs.

They stifled the midfield and stopped us sweeping it around how we like. They looked like they did their homework on us and they were rapid on the break.

Disappointed but as has been pointed out, its good we got a point out of it after going behind.

We'll create more chances against Munich, If we beat them, fantastic and, I think we can.

reason being napoli filled all the space to move the ball forward. this is why silva and nasri looked poor.

you are allowed to say that, though not true.

Spot on. Our fullbacks didn't really get forward as quickly as we have done in recent matches, and with Napoli filling the middle of the park it became difficult to find the little spaces that Silva and Nasri need.

Even with it being so tight, we had a couple big big chances which you'd expect us to take. Overall I can't praise Napoli enough still, thought they were excellent.

Mancini has a lot to prove, managerial wise, in this competition. Don't forget he didn't do anything with Inter in the CL & was sacked after Liverpool knocked Inter out of the competition.
