City V PSG ticket Prices: Club Statement

If the sheikh does decide he's had enough, it's going to take someone with a pretty sizeable wad to take over.
So why the worry. Not that he will, given all his investment in the CFG, not just us.

And Manchester Life.

Regardless of any protest or unhappiness at the ticket prices, Sheikh Mansour is in this for the long-term. I think he's got more pressing issues ATM. He will send Khaldoon to sort this out. Relax!

Just removed my daughter of the CL cup scheme. She will lose the points accumulated this year but so what, it saves £40 that at 19, she cannot afford. Next year she will not be on this cup scheme and I suspect nor will many others. There should be guidelines published regarding price levels so that supporters know what they are potentially committing to when they join these schemes.

Implying that our owner might jack it in because fans are concerned about ever rising ticket prices is ridiculously over the top. If that was the case then you have to wonder why Kompany hasn't been sacked in the wake of his interview about ticket prices and clubs needing to be careful not to alienate their fans.

Might just make them realise our concerns , they took us over when we had 40000 hardcore support , we are still here but want a 60000 hardcore support week in week out.

It's been said a thousand times but reduce the prices and people will queue to get in, full stadium , better atmosphere equals a hostile vibrant atmosphere.

How they can't see this especially for CL nights astounds me, 50000 v Juventus was average , should have been sold out weeks in advance.

Has anybody got any footage of the atmosphere at that Hamburg game- we were definitely the twelfth man that night- electric atmosphere.

On the more general issue of ticket prices, I just read the Eveton statement explaining why they decided to reduce prices for next season. The statement noted the cash cow from the TV deal, and that they recognised that they needed to listen to their fans. Looking more closely at the changes they are making, there is no doubt that some of their initiatives could easily be copied by City. Increasing the age for a junior ticket, making it more affordable for families, and a 5% reduction in a single season ticket. These sorts of initiatives would matter little to the financial bottom line, but would send a message to the fan base that they are actually cared about.
You know what, I'm going to stick my neck out and state that City will reduce ST prices for next season. People keep stating that the club don't listen to the fans (what they really mean usually is that the club won't do exactly what I want, working in CS I see that all the time), I think they do listen and they're anything but stupid. Anyone calling them greedy BTW is beyond dumb given what's been sunk into the club.

You can all come back in a month or two and crown me as an ITK.

I'm not convinced
It was thought that there would be another increase this year similar to previous years.
However our, far from dumb, guys thought it wouldn't look too good following a number of clubs reducing or freezing prices with another rise. Currently rethinking the strategy.

This is all I am asking for from the club. I know it's not a charity and I understand it has to be run along commercial lines and that ultimately the Sheikh will be looking to get a return on his investment, but this new TV deal provides so significantly towards achieving those goals and aspirations - and all I would like to see is some of that bonanza being redistributed back to the fans by way of a reduction in ticket prices. Not all of it, not most of it, not even a sizeable minority of it, just a meaningful part. Enough to make a difference.

It really isn't much to ask or expect.

Exactly mate. And what you've posted there squares pretty much with what the FSF and the various fan groups affiliated with it are saying. None of us are asking the earth - just that the fans get to see some benefit of the new TV deal and not just the players, managers, agents, chairmen, owners, etc.

This is the narrative that the FSF has been pushing and there's been some success with the £30 cap on away tickets, plus several clubs announcing ST price freezes/reductions. Even Arsenal, a club much maligned for fleecing their fans, have announced a freeze on ST prices as well as a further £4 per ticket subsidy on top of the £30 price cap for all their travelling fans at every away league game next season.

The tide definitely appears to be turning, pal.

The club report (under PL rules I might add) tickets "distributed", which includes freebies. They don't report actual bums on seats. So if they gave away all 54,000 tickets for nothing and no one turned up, they'd still be able to report a sell-out. If they give or sell 1,000 ticket to the Manchester Uni Student Union or the Co-Op Social Club, they're counted, even if not a single one is used.
They hiked the price of our kid's seat by £500/600 last season so he moved. They renamed where he sat the Joe Hart Experience or some such shit and I've had two lots of 4 freebie tickets to sit there this season as they can't sell the them. Sums it all up for me.

I cannot remember exactly what year it was but in the recent years Davin Conn wrote an article about football prices and inflation and I recall it shown that even with cumulative inflation over the years prices since 89/90 and all seater stadia tickets should be not much higher than £10-£15 at most.

Now I know that modern stadia and policing, football standards etc have also rose high above inflation, but clubs have also reaped the rewards of the premier league tv deals and world marketing

There needs to be a balance that will keep football accessesable to the fans that have followed clubs through generations and affordable and appealing to new supporters, and prices rises with seemingly no sense to them isn't helping

Also for those saying be grateful or fuck off and support someone else, this isn't just a city problem Football as a whole is suffering from this
