City v Real Madrid post match

Going into the game I said that any draw, as long as it wasn't too high scoring, would be an excellent result for us. I didn't think we'd keep them out, but I didn't think they'd keep us out either. As it happened, injuries to Ronaldo and Benzema and our forward players being a bit out of sorts ended up giving us the perfect draw.

Apparently Ronaldo has a muscle tear meaning theres no chance of him playing in Spain. If he doesn't play, I'd make us favourites for that tie.
That true on Ronaldo mate?

We have still got the opportunity to go there and give them a scare. If we pinch a goal, they will shit themselves. A chance for our counter attacking of KDB and Kun.

If we'd have won 1-0 we might have subconsciously sat back in Madrid and tried to defend our lead, which I'm not sure we can do

0-0 might suit us better as at least we need to try and attack on the break to nick a goal

(Think that's called clutching at straws)

That's what I would do, but I'd do the same in the Prem. Will 'he' ?

To be honest mate, I think we've looked at our best playing that shape when teams have attacked us, as it's perfectly set up for us to counter attack quickly.

The Aston Villa away game we played a similar shape and we were absolutely dreadful. In the vast majority of league games we have to be the pragmatists, so it's not always possible to play on the break.

Really? He marked the most expensive player in history out of the game, so much so that he swapped wings at half time. Kept a clean sheet and looked under no trouble against one of the top 3 sides in the world and you think that's evidence of "average to poor"?

I think you've been playing too much FIFA or watching too many YouTube clips of Roberto Carlos free kicks if you want loads more from a full back.

His job is to defend, keep possession and give it to our talented creative players so they don't have to worry about defending. He's been doing an absolutely superb job of that since he came back from injury.

I second that..

And me. He hardly put a foot wrong. Now I've defended Kolarov in the past because I think he gets a ridiculous amount of flak from City supporters, but I wouldn't even think of choosing him at present. Clichy's been very, very solid since coming back from injury. Sad to say it, but Zab provides no competition for Sagna either, at present. I'd only not pick Clichy and Sagna if they needed resting (i.e. this coming Sunday, I suppose).
