City v Saints post match

Big difference to Everton game was back then we played well. Today we simply weren't in the game from the first minute. Southampton defended well and clever. Our players often made the wrong choices and fading confidence made us look tame. Another huge error made us chase and chase. Kompany looked rusty but he lasted. Wednesday another game for him. Aguero is way off form. Hope he gets it right soon.

Bravos mistake can be attributed to pep playing out form the back but how many times have you seen misplaced back passes from centre halves in teams that don't play out from the back.....answer...all the time

Completely lost in the frenzy to apportion blame on his system of play.

None more so than De Bruyne who when almost clean through chose to pass when he should have ploughed on and shot. That was a huge waste in. Turgid half. He gave the ball away so many times today it was incredible.

read the thread. It's full of would be managers who think they know better.

Seriously we need to get behind the man, cos hearing booing is the start of a slippery slope.

I thought we got behind him and the team today... there was loads of 'come on City' today. But fans are only human too, and 5 games without a win is always going to cause frustration.
I didn't boo, but I can understand why some thought the first half warranted it. From where I was sat, it was a minority, but I can't really blame them.

Very poor - collective loss of form - but not disheartened. Once we get past this shit streak, someone's gonna get pasted.

Boo boys fcuk off please.

Still on course for the title...

Admittedly my day never started well when the news of no trams from altrincham hit me , or rather my wallet , to the game then and back.

Game itself. Players did ok generally but come on that formation was not good enough. I was confused never mind the players.

3 at the back but we looked shaky , ok worth the risk.

1 upfront but no players in the box . Ok we will dominate midfield.

Midfield? Out muscled. It was a bit like Everton. Miles taller and more physical than us.

Amazingly in the EPL opposing managers look at our team and work out how to play against us. Do we? this was the major failing of pellers but again we seem to focus totally on ourself again and not how the opposition play and how we might break them down. Everton thwarted us and the saints did exactly the same playing the same way. Fair play to them.

we got tonked by spurs and have drew two games at home that we should have won and in the context of the premier league , these are games we should win. We are too small physically in midfield. It was a game crying out for yaya in midfield instead of Gundagon either from the start or as a sub.

I am not moaning ( well a bit) and yes yark away will tell me to get a life but the weaknesses are showing ( or rather the opposition are working out how to play us) but we need to be getting more than 2 points against Everton and saints at home although fair play to them they were both strong. Even rogers celtic worked it out. The EPL is a pressing game it's not always easy to play it out from the back on small pitches with opposition knowing our tactics. We need to shake it up.

Anyway at least the rags got stuffed.

I think that's probably our biggest weakness, to me it seemed to be the main difference between us and Barcelona. But that's down to some of the players we've got, rather than our style of play - I suppose Pep will be looking to get players in who can complete the jigsaw.[/QUOTE]

Barca have 11 players comfortable with the ball at their feet and able to change the pace of the game as they see fit. We have 4 or 5 capable of that, and the rest trying their best to do it with varying results.
I've no problem with Pep wanting us to get to a similar standard to Barca, we all want that, but I think he's going to have to make allowances for the inferior quality we have. Hopefully he will replace players who aren't capable of playing how he wants, but in the meantime, pragmatism might be the order of the day.

Top of the league last time I looked. Given the transition we are at the beginning of I am pretty pleased with how things are at the moment. Obviously things to work on but we will get there. We are on the verge of something truly special just be patient

Sorry if already discussed, cba going through 40 odd pages after the first 5 ..... But I have heard the booing at full time was directed at Twattenberg and the time wasting/going down like been shot by snipers ...?
