City V Sheff Wed (LC) Post match Thread

Nuihu is the giant you're speaking about and he's an absolute animal. Held up play pretty well tonight against Mangala, too.

Great 2nd half, really enjoyed it. Pozo impressed me after a shaky start after coming on. He is definitely a City style of player and with more development looks like he could slot in nicely.

A young Lampard would be priceless for us... he just appears where you want him and scores. I guess this is what we were hoping Rodwell would be.

Good to see attendance up from the usual League Cup 3rd round game, heavily due to Wednesday's good following. They were loud but we had to endure the usual tinpot songs like WWYWYWS. A lot of unfamiliar faces around me and these people would just not sing no matter what the situation. It takes a proper miserable twat to sit stone-faced during "Stand up for the champions".

Its not just his ability to be in the right place at the right time. He has the skill and composure to finish too.

Just a few things from a wednesday perspective

Our fans were quiet by our standards tonight, mainly because a lot of our 2.5k core away support wasn't there and it was more season ticket holders as we sold the tickets on a points system
The wwywyws song only came from us when your lot were singing 3 0 in your cup final, seems a few of your fans have already forgotten where you were not that long ago
Ground looks great and your team were unreal, but I have to say it feels like man city are losing their soul, feel a little sorry for the old school lot who have to endure the threads on here like the one I've just seen 'hey from an American I've picked man city as my team'

We were battered tonight no doubt, and I wish you a good season but it really felt like I was at old trafford tonight and I hate to say it as I've always liked city

Well its time for goals after this start of the season

Many did well

Lampard in the right place

Pozo tbf i wasn't that impressed despite his goal hope he doesn't turn another "the new..." like many others

in other hand Kelechi Ilenacho from the preseason you feel he got something special

lampard and milner fantastic. actually watched the game at home in sheffield - special mention to the wednesday fans. not just tonight but whenever i watch them or hear about them its only ever great things - hope to see them back in the prem soon.

Rubbish. It was first heard at 0-0 and repeated later. It's the same song thrown at us by every set of fans (except Chelsea and United, maybe a few others) and is now met with either ambivalence or "We were here when we were shit".

Good game, glad we got through with the clean sheet and no injuries...

Great game from Milner, Mangala looks like a beast of a player his volly that hit the post would've been a superb opener,

That Wednesday number 9 was a bit of a big chap, but he just couldn't connect when he had the chance

Agreed and it shows the other set of fans as brainless dickheads as we were renowned for our loyal backing home and away, even in the old third division and in spite of not winning fuck all for years or looking like we ever would.

We would never forget where we were, indeed many of us still wake up in a cold sweat having dreamt Pearce was still our manager and Corradi and Samaras were leading our forward line.

As we [hopefully] have more and more success we will attract more new fans and our share of glory hunters it comes with the territory and is a price you pay for being successful.Any club would swap places with us and those that say they wouldn't are lying.take it from someone who has been here 46 years.being at the top is so much better than being shite, trust me!
