Bit of doom mongering going on with that first half.. On another day we'd have been three up before they even got a sniff of a penalty. Nasri and Dzeko often bury those chances and they were far, far better than anything Southampton created. I'm not saying it was some great master plan, but at this stage of the season you do what you need to do. We were a goal up, it went level, and like so many times this season we've knocked it up a gear and got back in front. Don't believe the commentary hype that Southampton suddenly turned into Barcelona and gave us a lesson, it really wasn't the case.

drama queens out in force again , "if we play like we did in the 1st half we will get hammered" we got an early goal , stood off them ,let them play tippy tappy football , then took them to the cleaners . its well known saints are a 30 minute team , they cant press the oppostion for 90 minutes , MP got his tactics spot on again , its about time some posters on here , gave him the credit due . We will do the same at klanfield let them come at us all guns blazing and pick them off when they have run out of steam , cant believe the negativity of some city "fans".

Garbage. We didn't control anything in the first half. You make it sound like some kind off master plan. It wasn't and had saints been better at finishing we would have paid the price. You can't afford to turn off for 40 minutes and then turn up for the next phase of the game. On another day we could have paid the price and this thread would have been in meltdown. As it is we've got complacent Johnies like you all over it like a rash.

Hart didnt make a save in 90 minutes , saints are well known for dominating possession and doing fcuk all with it , never looked in danger , ive supported the club for 50 years , so complacency isnt a trait i am familiar with , lightweight supporters expect us to dominate every game and win in style , then there is the real world.

Saints didn't have a decent chance from in front of the goal. Dodgy free kicks that Foy conjures up on the edge of the box, a corner, were about the only options open to them today.

I think Edin will fuck off at the end of the season having got pissed off with some of the support he gets from the fans or the lack of it. He got a decent shout from the fans for the pen and his goal, but at times he doesn't help himself. There were a couple of times in the first half where he switched off and assumed the attack had been extinguished when there was a mistake and poor touch from a Soton player.

Some good performances today, thought Navas was great, Kola had a good game and of course Silva. Just Silva. <3

Great 2nd halt performance and thoroughly deserved the points. 3-1 flattered us at half time but the 4-1 final result flatters them, could have easily had another 2 or 3.

Fans leaving earlier and earlier is getting to be ridiculous. Don't care about the traffic/trams etc. We do not look like a team going for the title with a 25% full stadium at the final whistle.

We didn't look like a team chasing the title and our fans don't look like fans of a team chasing the title. Hundreds of empty seats, no atmosphere. Have we become so blasé and complacent after winning just one title?

Despite Southampton's brilliance, all they managed was one shot on target and that was their penalty.

To me, that is the stat of the match. How on earth with 61% possession in the first half did they only manage to get the one penalty shot on target and then was even worse in the second. Frankly, I'll give possession to a team that can't do anything with it.
