Manchester City must choose between emergency loanee Marton Fulop or youngster Gunnar Nielsen for today's crucial clash against Aston Villa after Shay Given underwent a 3 hour operation on his injured shoulder in the week.

Emmanuel Adebayor and Gareth Barry are also doubts with thigh and hamstring injuries respectively and City are also without the long-term injury trio of Joleon Lescott, Michael Johnson and Martin Petrov.

Aston Villa meanwhile may name the same team for the 6th successive game, with the only injury concerns being long term problems for Curtis Davies, Fabian Delph and Marlon Harewood.
