City v Watford Post Match Thread

The extended highlights are up on the website now. Well edited as it didn't show just how bad City were in the first half. Anyone know when the 5th round draw takes place?
Thanks for letting us know! Disappointed I couldn't watch today, so this is welcome.

Edit: I must be overlooking them. Would you have a direct link?

Just having a read of their main forum

A few points, what a few of us suspected many are closet rags

They think they actually played well in the first half, rather than we were poor

Some of the insults about us both club and fans are quite bad, given their ownership I would not bother to preach on the morality of modern football

Typical shit from a tin pot little club and it's pathetic fans

They might be cunts about our money but Watford aren't Crawley or anything and they battered us first half.

Let's not become rags now, they could have done us on a different day. They might have forgotten where we came from but I hope that we don't pull the same trick

Like I said before. Talking out of your arse as usual. If you can't make the distinction between a genuinely substandard team selection and one that should have been comfortably strong enough to defeat 'B' list opposition, but simply played poorly, then you can't be helped. You can keep huffing and puffing if you want, but to be honest you've worn me out already.
Contextualise - to place in a particular context [OED]. And it's "queens" with a capital Q and an apostrophe. And you're welcome.......

I have decided you know nothing about our manager.

nothing about our club

and nothing about football.

just sayin like.

Ha ha, now I know you're wumming! I mean having spent the last 8 months bellyaching about the loss of Mancini at every opportunity, whilst the rest of us spent it endorsing the appointment of Pellegrini, you have to be, right?!

I'd say you got a good carpeting there

loved vinnys team talk before they went out for the second half, as seen on the tunnel cam.

"forget about what happened in the first half. we're a better team then they are. lets fucking hammer them. were aggressive all game and go after them all together. come on!"

got me rock hard!

Having just watched the highlights, strachan makes a good point. We are not used to playing against 3 strikers and that's what happened in the first half when they attacked. We were going touch tight because of the lack of cover in midfield and constantly being caught square and flat footed. A lack of pace with the two centre halves. I'm in no doubt that we need a WC centre half in the summer. Demi is a better holding midfielder than centre half.

Last season they were singing United songs, my point still stand their ownership is a little dodgy to say the least, and it is correct to say we allowed them to play well in the first half by dint of our disorganisation, we go organised and smashed them, if the same team would have been out for the full 90 in would have 8-0

except the wurzel is chatting shit. I like pelli but we treated bob very poorly, sadly we have some fans want success at all cost, even if it means riding slipshod over a manager that got that friggin banner down.

I thought we were better than that.

I've not read all the earlier posts, just skim read them.
Ok we were playing a team from a division below, but it would be the biggest game some of those players will play in, and their cup final for this season.
Ok we had yaya playing and aguaro playing, but we still had a largely weakened team, with key players rested. And we won 4-2. We scored 4 at home again. The machine keeps on rolling. That's got to be positive hasn't it? There's always going to be games where we aren't upto scratch, and games we dominate and still lose, but to go 2 down and still win by 2 shows class and shows how far we've come. At one time we'd have crumbled.

Couldn't agree more - i love the way we play football its great, but sometimes just grinding a win out is whats needed.. a win is a win and as stated above we roll on unbeaten again

You couldn't possibly be more raggish if you tried there. We played a good, hard working team who nearly fucked us.
