Like I said before. Talking out of your arse as usual. If you can't make the distinction between a genuinely substandard team selection and one that should have been comfortably strong enough to defeat 'B' list opposition, but simply played poorly, then you can't be helped. You can keep huffing and puffing if you want, but to be honest you've worn me out already.
Contextualise - to place in a particular context [OED]. And it's "queens" with a capital Q and an apostrophe. And you're welcome.......

I have decided you know nothing about our manager.

nothing about our club

and nothing about football.

just sayin like.

Well, you would be wrong; just as you are about rotation and yesterday's starting 11.

I've not seen many on this forum that have a better understanding of the game than Exeter Blue and, if I was compiling a list of those that do, you (genuinely no offence intended) would not be on it.

Cheers OB1. The notion that we should start our strongest XI every game, in particular, is so daft I can't believe it's even been suggested. Dzeko, Milner, Navas, Clichy, Jovetic et al, would leave the club within weeks were that the case, and Aguero, Silva, Kompers and Ya Ya would be burnt out by Christmas each year!
Still hoping we'll swoop for a top drawer centre half in this window. Yesterday just re-emphasised how badly an injury to Vinnie might knacker our chances on all fronts.

Bill is a wum and well known for it.

Exeter Blue knows his football.

no offence taken.
the only thing is with bell ends sorry enders is they can't own up when the manager drops a bollock and gets away with it. we did v Blackburn and we did yesterday.
we didn't v sunderland away and we wont in other prem games.

don't have to be a football expert, even plastic ones to see that .

Ha ha, clueless on an epic level.

And now on top of cnut, prick, arsehole and bell end, you chuck in "plastic". To be fair though I have only been watching them live for 40 years. How you're considered fit to moderate others, is a gen-u-ine mystery.......

Ta mate. Always struggle to see the point in wumming your own though, unless they're certifiable loons. Wouldn't have thought that suggesting squad rotation against Watford was perfectly reasonable fell into that category myself..... ;)

It's a patently ridiculous idea that you start with your first eleven every week. This is not 1969. There is not a single successful club in world football who do it. Not Barca. Not Madrid. Not bayern. Not Chelsea. Not man united. Not arsenal. That's because an elite club who do well in the cups can play over 60 games in that season. Throw in ten internationals and your top players are being asked to play 70 times a season. It is not physically possible to do that without risking long term, career ending injury at worst, dramatic loss of form and energy at best.

If you played your best available 11 every week in a season like we are having you would end a couple of careers, badly damage a couple more, win nothing and have a dozen unhappy squad players on the transfer list. But at least you might not be behind in a game against Watford for a short period.

Can't believe you even have to point this out, EB. And I concur with OB. There aren't many who understand football on this forum but you are clearly and obviously one. But this point doesn't take a football genius. My seven year old gets it.

Squad rotation is a really difficult thing for a manager imo because everyone has their own idea of exactly when and who to rotate and therefore there will always be criticism. Ultimately if a manager rests players and wins then he will look like a genius but if he doesn't get away with it will look a bit of a dope, but it is always going to be a gamble. My main concern with squad rotation is that I think some managers (Benitez when he was at Liverpool springs to mind) forget that the most important thing in any game is the result and not that players get a break.

Whilst rotation is key given the amount of games to be played, its also key given the amount of top quality players we have and keeping them all happy at the club.

Pellegrini is doing a magnificent job on both counts.

Totally agree mate. There can't be a single player in our squad who isn't motivated by the fact that he's given them all a chance. And there are a good number of cup games where we've made changes to a weakened team and turned things around.

Pellegrini is right to rotate his squad, it's a no brainer, everyone needs a rest, every squad member needs a game otherwise they will a) get ring rusty, or b) leave, I think Pellegrini has managed the squad pretty well to be honest, he puts faith in players to do a job, mostly this season, they've done just that, where we have cone a cropper is cover for Vinny, quality, top drawer quality, with Pellegrini's system, of fast, attacking football, and mobile, adaptable players, the likes of Lescott and Boyata have struggled, even MDM, a man with good touch has lack of pace, so these 2 paired up, against fast, mobile players are bound to suffer, like yesterday, and it's an indicator, that we need another CB of quality, with pace.
Boyata, not had enough 1st team games, and is played out of position at RB
Richards, still coming back from his injury, not fully upto speed yet
Nasty, likewise, has been out injured, not regained his form
MDM, often caught out of position, dives in
Vinny, the only quality CB we have

It's no coincidence that the substitutions of VK and Zab changed the game, Rodwell still isn't upto speed form wise, and Lopes, well, not a lot he could do, the change in formation paid dividends, I'm sure Rodwell will come good again.
But it is worrying that we have no like for like cover for Vinny, Yaya, Fernandinho , a CB and someone to fill Yaya's shoes, as he's not getting any younger, must be on the cards

WTF is all this Bo!!0x about???

We played a second string, we won (maybe not as easily as some on here think ewe are always entitled to) we're in the draw for the fifth round and still competing in four competitions...

Some on here really do need to consider just how fortunate they are to be supporting City at this fantastic time.

Well done and congratulations Manuel Pellegrini you are rotating the squad superbly and on the back of that we have won 15 and drawn 2 of our last 15 games. That'll do for me any day of the week.
